Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone from AZPOD could share their class schedule for first semester/first year. I'm curious to see how many hours of lecture a day there are and how often labs are.

You could contact the school and ask for it but I’m assuming you will get it during the summer sometime. Can’t remember exactly when I got mine.

First quarter, you will take:
1. Biochem
2. Anatomy
3. Embryo
4. Histo
5. Pod Med
6. Interdisciplinary Health (1 or 2 hours total)

Lecture is going to range from 2 to 6 hours a day. Anatomy/ultrasound lab (3 hours) will be one to two days a week. Biochem workshop (2 hours) once a week. Expect 1 to 2 tests every week once you get into the quarter.

Note: although you have lecture every day, only about 20 people (from combined DO/Pod classes actually go to lecture, since they are recorded and posted usually within the day. Labs, however, are required.

Also note: it sounds crazy busy, but it is more than manageable. You will have lots of opportunities to get leadership experience and volunteer hours (I got over 40 hours in the first 3 quarters).

2nd quarter:
1. Biochem
2. Anatomy
3. Embryo
4. Histo
5. Physio
6. Biomechanics
7. Interdisciplinary Health (like an hour per quarter)

Same idea. 2 to 6 hours of lecture. 1-2 anatomy/ultrasound labs per week (3 hours each). Biochem workshop once per week (2 hours). Physio workshop (1 hour) every one to two weeks. Expect 1 to 2 tests per week.

3rd quarter:
1. Physio
2. Neuro
3. Podiatric Surgery
4. Immuno
5. Public Health/Ethics
6. Interdisciplinary Health (again, 1 or 2 hours probably)

2 to 7 hours of lecture per day. Physio workshop (1 hour) every one or two weeks. Expect 1 to 3 tests per week.

Summer quarter: All podiatry-related classes. Enjoy some time off. Use your weekends to drive down to Mexico or float the Salt River in Mesa or head to Sedona or Cali or Vegas.
