Anyone heard back or have any idea when we're supposed to hear back from SIUE? Its been almost a month since interviews...

they said begnning to mid april so any day now 🙂

Yes, it has been a month...Hopefully, we will hear from them soon... I am planning to call Connie...but I am not sure if it is a good idea......SIUE is my last hope...so nervous......

Guys....SIUE has already sent out letter......I hope you guys receive the letter soon. I was placed on waitlist 🙁...Good luck guys. Hopefully you will get the good news.

I just got my acceptance, but I'm kind of ambivalent about it. My dad wants me to go to SIUE, but I've also been accepted to UIC and would much rather go there, but he wants no part of it. I also want to point out that I live in central Illinois pretty much the same distance from either, so geography is not an issue. My dad is just so unreasonable and unsupportive of what I want to do. It is causing so much drama and conflict at my house, and I'm almost more stressed out than I was during the whole interview process 🙁 So hopefully if I get my way there will be a spot for someone on the SIUE wait list.

Just got my acceptace letter too. I will not be going there though.

was SIUE anyones first choice? I would imagine anyone who got in anywhere else would go there instead of SIUE. I got into UIC so i'm going there for suree 😀

Sadly, SIUE was my first choice (just because it's close to home). Of course, I was placed so high up on the waitlist that I don't have a chance in hell of actually getting in.

Which day did you interview?

The BPS chair is a top notch guy at SIUE. Also a pharmaceutics prof there has won teacher of the year award previously. Both are great instructors and top notch professors.

I think SIUE will be my top choice too.. I love the area, location, etc.

that's an old thread

If you are not from southern Illinois, it'll be very hard to get into this school. SIUE has a reputation for choosing mostly southern Illinoisians and being biased against all other in-staters.

The last time I heard their acceptance breakdown, no OOSers were accepted. The other two Illinois schools do accept some number of OOSers. MDW because it's private accepts more than public UIC.

Would centralish Illinois, say, the Champaign-Urbana area be south enough to get into the region where their bias helps you?

This is a link to their class demographics. http://www.siue.edu/pharmacy/profile.shtml
Normally, I would consider Champaign-Urbana to be central Illinois. I wouldn't consider anything to be southern Illinois until you are south of Springfield. It looks like the number of central Illinoisians have increased in the past several years.
