ok...so i registered to take the pcat in june. studying is going ok...if i get it into gear, i think i can still do good on it. but here's the deal.

i don't need it for cali schools or usn (i live in vegas)...so i'm like why do i need to do good on it anyway? my grades and ec's are good. i know cali schools are competitive so if i don't get into cali then what? i haven't really made up my mind if i will go if i get accepted somewhere else(some school that requires the pcat) if i get in. i'm 24 and don't really feel like moving so far away from family now. i guess there are some reasons for my laziness. anyone else in a similar situation?

anyone else taking the pcat as a backup if acceptance to a non pcat school doesn't work out?

well, i am in the same situation. i applied for two pharmacy schools which dont require pcat and also took pcat as a backup to apply for more schools. i got rejected for this year, i have to try for next year. my pcat scores are bad, i am planning to take pcat in august. i want to know best books for pcat preparation. presently i am working in cvs pharmacy to get some pharmacy experience.reply me as soon as possible ,your advice and help would be greatly appreciated.

i'm using princeton review mcat study guide.
cliff's caluclus 1 review
schaum's organic 1 review
i like the way the little books are organized
hartcourt practice tests.

that should be a start. i think i'll get myself into gear the next few weeks and take the pcat. i'll decide later if i will be ok with going to another state. at least i'll have all my options open. good luck to you! 🙂

I've been taking 2 summer classes, working, and still trying to study for the pcat. It's difficult considering i'm fairly high up on one of my waitlisted schools, and my summer classes would suffer if I diverted more time to studying for the pcat.

i'm sure you'll do great on the PCAT. you seem to be focused on your studies. I am worried about the June PCAT, especially after I graduated in May. I haven't been able to pick up the book and study. It is less than 2 weeks away. I was thinking if I should take the August instead?

I just need one shot. I can't take anymore exams, they are way too long and hurts my neck/back. I already took the PCAT 4 times, and they were all average. Last year, I did get 2 interviews out of 5 schools but my grades weren't good enough to get accepted.

^ Damn that sucks.

I hope I don't do too badly on my June PCAT. It's my first go but I need a damn good score because my school requires PCAT and the score is weighted quite high I'd think.. so I'm worried.

sound like you need to worry less about pcat and more about retaking some of your PCAT course classes to boost your gpa.
