im taking it again i dont think it looks horrible if u improve a lot the second time around...

out of curiousity, how long did you spend preparing for it before you went ahead and took it?

If your scores were above 19's then you don't have much to worry about, but if it is below, then I think your hunch is correct.

If it makes you feel better, I took my DAT three times 😱 ... although I do not recomend doing that, I was accepted to the two schools I applied too. One school told me it showed determination and dedication. I did not NEED to take it a third time, but I knew it was a competitive year and went ahead and took it again in Jan anyhow since I knew I could do better. My AA went from a 19 to 21 so it was a good move for me. If you know you can do better, then do it. However, it does NOT look good if you do worse so keep that in mind to help motivate you to work extra hard!! Good Luck!!

you applied to only 2 schools? wit those DAT scores and after 3 attempts? I mean that's a pretty decent DAT score, but I wouldn't apply to just 2 schools unless I had really high scores somewhere around 25's. And you got accepted into both, how'd u do that?

I guess if you have decent stats and apply to one or two schools, it tells them you are really interested in their school.

Actually, DAT scores are just a PART of your whole application. If you are average all around, then yes you might need a higher DAT score. But in my case, my DAT was the lowest part of my application (and even at that a 21AA and 20TS is not THAT bad of a score). I had a really good undergrad GPA, a 4.0 post bac GPA (mostly science courses), great LOR and personal statement (at least that is what my interviewers said), etc.......

To be technical however, I applied to the schools haven taken the DAT only twice. I was then put on the waitlist for one school Dec 1, and becuase of that I decided to take the DAT again in Jan to help move me up the waitlist since it was my weakest point. Lukily for me it worked out.

As far as only applying to two schools.... was it a wise choice, probably not. But I knew I wanted to stay in Fl and was willing to sacrafice having to maybe apply again in order to do so. Well, it all worked out for me and I could not be happier 🙂

Good Luck Everyone!! :luck:
