anyone using Cram Fighter on iphone to make the schedule?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
the app is cool and all, but hte problem is that when it makes ur schedule, it only includes you going through each book one time along with the FA book just once as well....this isnt very realistic bc while u can go through the books just once and consolidate into FA, u still have to go through FA a lot of times to learn everything in there...but the app gives u a good idea of waht pages of each book to look at and if topics overlap in differnt subjects it has u study those topics aroudn the same time which is helpful

You can schedule days off for the purpose of reading first aid, then the app can recalculate the pages.

Thanks for noticing Cram Fighter!

We are planning to add a feature to Cram Fighter that will allow multiple rounds of review. For now, what you can do is to schedule your exam date when you want to finish your first round of review and then create a new schedule for the next round of review. Since creating a schedule only takes a few minutes, it's relatively painless! Feel free to post here if you have any other questions or you can contact us through our website.

I found CramFighter while looking online as well. Sounds like it could be a helpful program, but I don't have an itouch or iphone.

Anyone know of anything similar that is just online and not an iphone app?

We are working on a web version of Cram Fighter, but it will probably only be ready in a couple of months. We'll post an update on our website when we have a more concrete date for when the web version will be ready.

Thanks for your awesome app. Half the battle is trying to plan how to study for this exam, and I am glad someone decided to create something like this.

One little suggestion: could you add some specifics in terms of question banks. For example, the days I do cardiology: "Kaplan Qbank: Cardiology Pathology questions - 2 blocks" or "Cardiology Physiology questions - 1 block." Something of that sort. Instead of simply listing the question banks under each date.

You can use the total amount of questions each Qbank has and calculate it similarly to how you do the page numbers for the books.

Thanks for the suggestion! We have plans to break up question banks similar to how we break up books and it will probably be in the next major update of Cram Fighter. We will also be adding a page to our website shortly that shows all the features we have planned and when they will be available in the app.

cramfighter,

when is the next update due to comeout? seems like ur the main developer....

We don't have a concrete date yet since we're working on getting Cram Fighter for Step 2 CK out the door, but the Step 1 update should be ready sometime in late March or early April.

Just wondering... once you pick a book, is it possible to specify that you're only reading a certain number of chapters from that book? There are some that I'm only reading parts of, and I don't want the entire books to be scheduled in the readings...

PS: Just checked out the website, and found out that this is an option...

Another recommendation: add the ability to prioritize books. That way important books (ie First Aid) will always cone first for each subject.

Unfortunately it doesn't build in the amount of time 30 pages of Goljan will take versus 30 pages of First Aid versus 30 pages of HY neuro. They take different time amounts and they each have different amounts of info in the alotted amount of pages.

I've stopped using it because it unfortunately is not realistic. As someone said before, going through the books just once is not likely.

Great suggestion! We'll add it our list of feature requests. You can always move chapters manually to get it in the order you like, but we always like saving people time.

What we found is that harder chapters typically have more pages, so it usually works out in the end. It's not always perfect though, so we've been experimenting with giving the user the ability to weight different books or subjects.
