Does anyone know if UNSOM usually starts notifying people on January 15th.... I interviewed on October 12th, and I'm just curious...

I'm not sure on the exact date, but my interviewer said that the first set of notifications will be made starting in January. I interviewed during the last week of November- anxious...

I believe the 15th is the day they mail the letters - so don't expect anything for 1-3 days afterwards.

Nice! I am a first-year pre med planning to graduate in fall of 2010, so I have awhile to go, but I'm a Nevadan since '96, so UNSOM is definitely a top choice.

Hey everyone! Good luck! Is there anyone who is waiting nervously for the January adcom results like I am? I just wanted to see if anyone has gotten a letter yet. I am going crazy...
Their admissions process is so draining, we might not find out until April???!!!

I interviewed in the beginning of December. I am not sure how much longer I can take this wait.....SO PAINFUL.

I take it no one has received any type of letter yet? They should be coming out soon. 😱

I interviewed early October, and I'm getting mighty antsy.... You would think a letter would only take a day to get from Reno to Vegas... but who knows??? Guess I shouldn't get too disappointed yet since it's only the 16th 🙂

Don't freak out yet. I talked to a friend who got her acceptance in January - it took a few days for the acceptance letter to get to LV.

Yeah, I had to sign for it as well. I believe that if you are not there for a certified letter, the mailman will leave a note and you have to pick it up at the post office.

Hi all, congrats on the acceptances for those lucky few. I actually interview on January 28 during the last week of interviews. I applied last year and did year and did not get in. I only applied to UNSOM and UWSOM and got rejected and waitlisted, respectively. That cost me a year but I expanded my list of schools this year and have already been accepted to several. I really liked UNSOM and the Reno area when I was there last year and would love to attend. I am OOS (Idaho) so my chances, like last year, I not great but it is worth the trip to give myself the opportunity to attend UNSOM. This year's interview will be different in the fact that the pressure is off my to get accepted because I already am and will be fully satisfied to go to Texas. This, I hope, will allow me to be more myself and be relaxed. Luckily they dont notify OOS until Feb 15 so im not too far behind in the application process. Anyways, UNSOM is a great school and I wish all those waiting the best of luck!!!!

Yeah, I sent in T'scripts as well. I bet they compare it to AMCAS grades, or just want them on file...

I called the office today and Pat Romney told me that rejections and acceptances were sent out on the 15th. Congratulations on those who got good news this round!

My premed advisor said that getting called in for interviews at UNSOM early in the cycle (i.e., early October) is a good sign - that you're ranked higher, i guess. Do you know if there's some truth to that?

The highest I know of is covering first year tuition - around $12000. I know others who have half that amount.

And almost everyone gets some need-based financial aid, some pretty large amounts from what I've heard.

I don't know for sure but it could be true. A lot of the people in our class who got January acceptances had interviews pretty early on. Of course, I know a person in our class with phenomenal stats who got a later acceptance (but that was a late application).

But on the flip side, I'm only exposed to people in our class who obviously did get acceptances - so there could definitely be people who interviewed early on who did not get accepted.

They send out rejections and acceptances Jan 15th, Feb 15th, and March 15th. If you are waitlisted they will not let you know until April.

Nope, not yet... I'm not sure if the mail has come yet today. The holiday on Monday could of delayed the mail... I have not heard anybody getting in this round yet.

Nope, nothing here! If you have not heard yet, you are probably out of luck for this wave! Kind of weird that nobody on SDN has not posted an acceptance for this wave although UNSOM is not too popular of a discussion here it seems!

Yeah, I don't know it seems strange, although possible of course, that none of the 5 or so of us have heard. I think last year someone called or emailed the office and they let that person know if/when everything was sent out.
