APMLE Part 2- Class of 2025

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
What’s the process if you didn’t pass again? I feel defeated.
As @Weirdy said, talk to your school. I had a friend who this happened to and it effected their residency rank status so they had to find a position after the standard match process once they passed the 2nd retake. It may be different now but not all is lost if you pass it on the 3rd try. You need to iron out the exact details with your school though.

Thanks for the advice!

Yeah just my own opinion, the retake I received was so unlike what i expected/studied for. A ton of epidemiology/medical ethics/law q's that I still dont know where to find the answers to. It was polar opposite of the january exam - like just void of the high yield topics a 4th year podiatry student should be asked about. All im asking for at this point is an exam that is representative of the material we have been prepping with. Hoping the curve comes through

The news is recent, as of February 2025.

It illustrates how disastrous Meazure Learning is. Additionally, NBPME, which has the authority to rectify the situation, is not doing anything. It cares about its own credibility and reputation. It does not want to undo the damage done by harming those who passed because that will expose the organization even more. Mathematically and statistically, there are violations of the Rasch Model. I am sorry to break it to you all, but the truth is that there will be student doctors who are going to become resident doctors this July 2025 who actually do not deserve to because of the flaws in the scoring system. Additionally, there was still FIFTEEN DAYS AFTER SCORES FOR THE FIRST APMLE PART II EXAMINATION ADMINISTERED IN 2025 RELEASED questioning of whether those who passed passed accurately and those who failed failed accurately... This has massive repercussions on licensing, certifications, future physicians, future patients. Everything is also within internal review, therefore "all seems accurate". Please, we require a class action lawsuit. The number crunching could have been wrong since Meazure administered an APMLE exam in 2024. Meazure is ILL-EQUIPPED to handle it, unlike Prometric, which has dealt with a number of high-stake examinations (e.g. USMLE, NCLEX, GRE, MCAT, etc.).

They should fire whoever thought switching to this company for APMLE was a good idea. Meazure is a complete disaster.

Gotta watch out for those [prestigious] Wycoff Heights alumni:

NBPME Selects Meazure Learning to Develop APMLE Exam

Meazure Learning, a leading provider of end-to-end test development and delivery solutions for professional testing and higher-education organizations, has announced it has been selected by the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners (NBPME) to develop and deliver the American Podiatric Medical Licensing Exam (APMLE) in a multi-year agreement. The exam will be administered through the Meazure Exam Platform and available through Meazure Learning’s network of more than 650 professional test centers throughout the U.S.

Roland Ramdass, DPM, NBPME Board President, says, “The entire board met with key staff from Meazure Learning and were impressed with their professionalism and commitment to developing and delivering quality examinations in a manner that emphasizes excellent service to every candidate.” Meazure Learning’s extensive assessment development and psychometric team will work closely with NBPME to ensure the exams remain a valid measure of test-taker knowledge and are delivered with high levels of service that allow test-takers to perform their best.

Meazure is already being sued by future attorneys for mishandling the California Bar Exam. If lawyers believe Meazure’s failures are serious enough for a class action lawsuit, why should NBPME still trust them with podiatry licensing exams?

This isnt just one mistake... its a clear pattern of failure. Meazure botched APMLE Part 1 for the Co26, Part 2 for the Co25, and the Cali Bar Exam. Technical failures, scoring inconsistencies, and system crashes have impacted thousands of test-takers across multiple professions.

If Meazure cannot deliver high-stakes exams reliably, NBPME must immediately reconsider their contract. Students' careers should not be jeopardized by repeated administrative failures.

It’s time for accountability. Either Meazure fixes these issues immediately, or NBPME must find a testing provider that can actually do the job right.

The most frustrating part of this whole scenario is the timing of it all. With the match notification email going out this week it's just the biggest slap in the face for everyone who initially received a passing score, was asked to retake, and failed again. A May retake means absolutely nothing at this stage

NBPME board members are bunch of old people and they really don’t care. These people need to be forced to retire. They are only damaging the reputation of podiatry. Imagine not even doing anything to fix the inconsistency in how tests are being administered and the results. So many students who should be in the match this year are prevented due to NBPME not holding meazure accountable.
