APMLE Part 2- Class of 2025

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
mine was previously a 78, and it dropped to a 74, exactly- how do I not know if meazure just magically updated scores? this is really stressful
On the report with the 78 score what was the passing rate? Was it still 75 or higher?

Nice.

Passed on the first attempt.

This exam sucks, as they all do. Somehow meazure managed to make the experience as crappy as possibly. And no matter how much you study, there’s always a “did I pass?” factor.

Used prism and Watkins to study for externships, read each once. Did quizlets aligning with each chapter. Mcglamary’s/board vitals for anesthesia.

Board vitals once, and flagged any wrong and found trends in my wrong answers. Used those to hone in on my weaknesses. Remember the buzzwords from these resources as they pop up very often, example: young boy experiencing pain in hip during karate.

No other practice exams, review sessions, etc.

If you can get through part 1, you can get through part 2 and 3. But don’t underestimate this exam. You need it to graduate and start residency.

To everyone involved with the “student recruitment crisis”. THIS is why students aren’t applying to your overpriced terrible schools. Podiatry can’t even get a simple board exam right. Students don’t want to pay 400k for a disorganized embarrassing excuse of an educational process. Do MD/DO or dental kids have these types of egregious errors on their national board exams? No. Part 1 was horrible, and now part 2. Not to mention the terrible saturation and awful income we all face when leaving residency.

Again to everyone involved with problems recruiting: Maybe STOP putting ridiculous amounts of money into researching why students aren’t falling for your slimy sales tactics because the answer is obvious. The DPM degree is not worth the squeeze. No amount of marketing can change that simple fact. Maybe put that money to better use.
Use that money to hire a testing company that won’t **** the bed on every one of these life changing exams.

Part 2 isn’t a requirement for graduation, only for residency!

To my understanding
people who probably scored 80 or above “passed” and their scores aren’t changing

People who “failed” basically anyone’s score from 79-75 their scores have dropped 4 pts exactly below the threshold of 75 to I guess now justify “FAIL” .

How is everyone going about this ??? Schools have no idea of this matter since they dropped the scores even before sending the scores to the schools first .

there’s no trusting the score . How can you drop everyone’s score conveniently just enough so they’re below 75%????

I am one of those students who scored higher than 75 and it says I failed. I wonder if Measure is going to make up some lame excuses and say I still failed. NBPME responded and they forwarded my score to Meazure manager. This company is so ghetto. This is a national exam and they have no standards.
Did you get a response from meazure or any updates ? I’m in exactly same situation.

Then they shouldn’t say that above 75 is passing! Because if everyone scores 90-100, that means that students with the lowest score (even though above 90) they would still fail them cause they want the money or they have a specific percentage that want them to retake. And they are adjusting their scores below 75 so they really think they didn’t pass. This is all ridiculous and an acceptable to me!

Everyone who had a passing score but said failed needs to literally reach out to their schools and NBPME and ask for clarification.

I doubt they’ll do anything if we don’t all speak up since they changed the scores anyways.

This is truly a nightmare and unacceptable.

They dropped me from 79 to 74 enough just to put me at a fail

See isn’t that suspicious. All they had to do was literally pass the people who had a passing score.

That’s it !!! That’s all

Have you reached out to anyone ??

I didn’t get any response from them. Apparently Meazure disconnected their phone for everyone. Also they dropped everyone’s score 4/5 points. There has to be some explanation. If they entered scores incorrectly does that mean the students who passed actually failed? None of this make sense.
I was wondering if CASPR would be notified about this? That would affect all the students who were going to be ranked by programs.

Don’t give up just as yet . I’m trying to get hold of meazure and they said they’re looking into it. Asked to submit my previous score report (idk).

Hopefully it shouldn’t affect us since retake score should be way before match.

I’m not sure but from what I understand it’s saying that if you scored 75 or higher it’ll say pass

Anyone lower than 74 it’ll be fail

All the initial reports of people where higher than 75 who are in this situation . Technically by default it should have passed us .

But from what people are reporting all this is only happening to people which scores lower than 80 .

They didn’t mess up one or 2 students there’s so many of us . So if they accidentally reported wrong scores then what’s to say the reported passed students wrong too ????

It’s purely unacceptable .

I don't understand how they dropped the scores just so that we all barely 'failed.' People with a 78 were dropped to a 74 while others with a 79 were also dropped to a 74. Shouldn't all scores be dropped by the same amount (4 points) if it was truly an error?

An interesting evidence to contradict this would be someone coming out having say 79, and after score correction get 76 and still be passing? That would prove that score correction was not made to get everyone below 80 to fail and have to retake.

That's sort of the idea I'm thinking as well. If you saw a 79 "passed" it wasn't actually a 79 because of some internal error because you saw your number which it sounds like anyone who actually passed didn't get a number. An 80 might be a 75 or 76 but you'll not know unless someone can verify they passed and have a number showing.

Unless it was wrongly labeled at first and now they're just covering themselves. Any sort of integrity the company had is lost, there's no way to trust the results. I'm sure that there were people with actual failed scores below 75. They just changed the scores from 75-79 so that we would also fail. Any score change of this sort requires written proof/explanation. They can't just quietly go behind our backs and change our reports?

Thankfully I saved the original score report, otherwise no one would believe this. This is absolutely ludicrous.

You absolutely should keep all records and hound them for clarification. But as their site states above, anyone who passes doesn't get a score so the system flagged 75-79 as deserving a score which means they didn't pass at that level due to some error. Either everyone's score was falsely elevated or if that range was adjusted is unknown since everyone with just "PASS" doesn't get their score unless requested, and thus wouldn't have seen it prior to any scoring adjustment. Whether you all can fight that and say well I had a passing score initially reported or not is to be determined but they definitely need to provide an official response, and soon, to clear up this nonsense.

In the spirit of transparency, has anyone received an official statement from the governing bodies of APMLE, NBPME, or even their institution?

Our dean reached out to say they were in contact with meazure/NBPME, then again to say the scores were official and correct.

We hadn’t heard from anyone else from my understanding.

Received an email from Meazure saying that it was a computational error. I don't think they'll budge from this. They state that the status of the score report was right but the score was wrongly 'elevated'. I don't know if I'll ever believe this but there isn't much we can do. The retakes are free of charge though.

It’s not so much about the retake. It’s that CASPR will be notified and this could potentially affect how the programs rank us. They might reconsider ranking a student who failed part II high.

Is there a general idea of pass rates as of today? Seems like they’re not going to own up to their mistake.

Going off of what happened earlier this year with Part I, will residency programs be able to see results from Jan. 2025's administration of Part II?

My admin said that residency programs won't be notified of any failures at this point.
I got an email from NMS Match/CASPR to enter my APMLE ID on my profile. I still checked and have my prometric ID on file so I guess they wouldn't know as of yet.

This topic came up before, does anyone know where I can find information of the pass rate for 2nd time test takers for Boards Part II? Or better yet what is the historical stats?

Unfortunately, if you saw a numeric score chances are you did not pass. Once finalized, I would be honest with the score of any program that ranks you high. If a program liked you I am sure they will still rank you high. Good luck with the re-tests.

Congrats to those who passed.

Dean informed us of the national pass rate: 83.7%. 452/540. Atrocious.

Apparently they use a different scoring system from Prometric. “Logit cut score system” based on difficulty of test questions.

I feel bad for you kids but just remember this is one of only the first podiatry screw jobs you will encounter in your career. Wait until you don’t get that residency spot because the director likes the hot extern. Just wait until you fail abfas. Wait until you get a job. Wait until you try to keep that job. Wait until you try to switch jobs but can’t find a job… wait until you fail abfas case reviews. goes on and on.

But to stay on topic… this is messed up. Threaten to File a class action lawsuit it’s the only way things change.

Lol easy now friend it's not all bad when you work hard and things work out for you. You're not entirely wrong that this is step one of many that *can* ruin your day, your month, or even your year (yes that's a friends theme song quote).

are the new schools taking these exams yet? Would be interested their pass rates… maybe Texas has taken part 1? But maybe not 2

Wow that's a serious dip. The average 1st time pass rate for Part 2 Written across all schools from 2020–2022 is 89.33%.

Anybody received the link from meazure to schedule the exam for Feb??

Is it letting anyone else register for free? It’s asking me to pay the $925…

Hey yall, just thought I'd stop by and give my two cents. I also got a 79 initially and then checked again and got a 74. Im pretty sad about it as I thought the exam went well. Nontheless, our school said that the deans would be working on it and to just prepare to study for the retake. What are some things yall are changing in preparation for the retake? Only think I am doing different is going through high yield quizlets in the areas I didn't pass. And reviewing watkins for those sections as well. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

For anyone registering to take the retake, I just got the email to sign up to schedule my exam and pick a location. Went ahead and did that; HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT HONOR MY ACCOMMODATIONS. So for anyone who signed up for the retake and use accommodations, CHECK YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL. I've emailed candidatesupport and I really hope they respond soon and restore my accommodations.

Call them and they will fix it! That’s what the did with me

if you or anyone else whom you know is affected by the debacle, please email NBPME at [email protected] with a statement, the organization wishes to be bombarded and know how this has affected students, thank you in advance
Dawg that’s an aol address. No one is checking that. And if they are… no one under the age of 70 is checking that.

Communicate with your school’s student and faculty reps. This is the most direct line of communication, because sending an AOL email is equal to sending a pigeon that got lost over the Atlantic.

Omg ! Same . The questions were definitely hard ! Flagged so many .

They have to curve !! There was maybe 20-30 repeats apart from that all crazy BMx, radio , most bizzare medical ethic questions !

Feeling worse than the 1st attempt ! Praying that the curve is massive and we pass .

Yeah, in general, the questions this time around were harder. There was nowhere to prepare for it because there were about 20 some random medical ethics and medical research questions that we didn’t even learn in any classes. I used to do research in the past and I never heard any of those terms.
Got a lot of 3rd order questions and didn’t get any the 1st attempt.
