App submission - is it worth waiting until August for more science grades and higher GPA's?

Hi guys! Hope this post finds everyone well in the midst of working on the application 😉

Up until tonight, I was quite set on submitting my application in August after all my Summer '14 grades are updated on my transcript. It is one of my goals this summer to excel in the upper level science courses that I'm taking, and demonstrate that after all I don't really suck at life sciences. However, right now, I am completely torn between end-of-June submission (no way I can submit mine this week lol) and August submission. It must be that day by day I'm hearing more of the "the earlier the better your chances," which is entirely a valid point. I am also aware that, if I do end up submitting my application before the summer courses are over, I will be updating my coursework during the Academic Update.

So my concern is: stick with the one-time submission plan (August submission) or go with the earlier batches (June submission)? I sincerely need your honest opinions! What do you all think the best option for my case is? I am too lost on this matter, and would appreciate any type of feedback 😍

Well... What is your sGPA right now? What do you predict that your sGPA will be at the end of the summer?

My sGPA is currently around 3.27, and I hope to bring it up to about 3.35 at the end of this summer, and at least 3.40 by the end of the academic year. Hahah, not much of a difference, it might seem! Oh, and I forgot to mention that one of my summer classes is a prerequisite -- I know schools say we have till matriculation, but still, does it look awful when I don't have a prerequisite course completed at the time of applying?

Thanks so much in advance, and my apologies for these instant panic attacks 😕

Hmmmm.... I don't think I'd wait.
If the course doesn't end until August, it will still take a few days for your school to add the grade to your transcript.
You'll then have to send your transcript to AADSAS, which takes anywhere from 1-7 days.
Once AADSAS receives your transcript, it takes them 1-2 weeks to add it to your application.
Once your transcript is added to your application, it takes 1-2 weeks for your GPA to be verified.
Once your GPA is verified, your application is sent out on the upcoming Friday.

So, if you wait until the class ends, you'd essentially be submitting in mid-September... which is later than I'd want to apply.

I always forget to hit the "Reply" button, what a newbie. Anyways, thank you so very much for your sincere feedback all the time! 🙂
