I am new to this forum so I apologize if this is random. But, it was posted that people have heard from Federal correctional facilities in Kentucky and Texas. I am still waiting to hear from them. Does this mean that I am rejected and that I will not hear from them? I heard from all other federal locations on the 11/11-11/12 dates.
I personally counted the BOPs that I haven’t not heard from as a rejection due to the USAjobs application process. Since that application is now closed, I would assume that those that did not invite you to complete were not intending on interviewing. But I’m not 100% sure about this! Congrats on your other BOP interviews! My friend and I both applied to KY and TX BOPs. Rejections have not been sent out for those sites yet.

Hi all! This has been an absolutely overwhelming experience so far. I’m thankful for this forum, though, I do appreciate all of the support pouring out. No matter what happens, at the end of this process, we will all be psychologists! It’s tough to remember that, but I’m telling myself everyday that the process doesn’t define me as a human or as a clinician. It is all in the name of shaping us to be excellent practitioners, and we will get there one way or the other.

With that, I have a question! Has anyone heard from Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital?!

Good luck everyone! I hope to meet some of you at interviews .

Just got a rejection from Yale University School of Medicine Adult Mental Health Track. So two rejections so far and one invite. Unfortunately, this is interfering with my “holiday break”. I absolutely abhor this process.

Hi- I heard from Phoenix on the 20th.

I agree! My birthday was last week and I had to work hard not to check SDN and my email. I'm hoping for the best for all of us!

Hello everyone! First time posting on here. Has anyone had conflicting interview offers? If so, what did you do? I had already accepted an interview offer for a site on January 10th (a date I picked out of 3 options) but then today I got another interview offer for the same day at another site (no other optional dates offered). I emailed the site back explaining that I am unavailable on that day and inquired if there were any openings on another interview date. However, it doesn’t sound promising because their initial email stated that interview flexibility is limited. If they really can’t provide me with another interview date is it acceptable to recontact the first site to see if they can be flexible and switch me to another day? I feel like that will come off very unprofessional! 🙁

So, this just happened to me. I received a second wave interview date, the dates offered conflicted with my schedule so I moved my schedule around, contacted the site to accept the second wave interview date only to find out that it was now unavailable. They offered another date (which I have another interview on) or asked me to decline. I politely declined.

I emailed the TD from Louis Stokes VAMC asking if they had some time to provide brief feedback on my application if possible. I would like to know if there is something in my application that is off, etc. This makes my 5th rejection.

Because sites are already so busy coordinating interviews, etc., I'd imagine that reviewers might not be able to provide much feedback until after match day.

Rejected from Central Texas VAMC: neuro track. 11/26/19.

I need to go do something to distract myself.

Very likely. But worth a try.

At this point, I don't see the harm in inquiring if that's what you'd like to do. Depending on the number of sites to which you applied, which I'd assume was at least average, five rejections is very common given the average number of interviews/ranked sites. Not that this reality makes rejections feel any better - they sting like crazy - but hopefully this is just a slump!

Rejected from Central Texas VA Mental Health Track just now...

I am now becoming paranoid as to if, 1. my rec letters were not good, 2. that my integrated reports and case summary I submitted was not good enough. I really can't my finger on it.

Anyone hear from Durham VA? They posted their interview notification date as 11/25/19 and I haven't heard anything.

I HIGHLY recommend waiting until after match day to contact TDs for this information. We're already so busy and most people will end up matching/not needing feedback about this specific application process ever again. Did you have others look at your application materials before submitting? If so, there's likely not anything "off" or "wrong." It's rare that we have huge red flags in the materials like that. A lot of us just receive many more applications from qualified individuals than we can possibly interview.

I'm feeling the same way. I'm 0/4 so far.

Thanks for the insight! Our program has a mentorship program just for the internship process, so, funny enough, my mentor is my dissertation chair, neuro advisor, previous adjunct clinical supervisor at one of my sites, and one of my recommenders. We spent months working on the materials (essays, cover letters, etc.). At the moment, I am debating whether or not to apply to more sites with 12/1 deadlines just to make sure. But to be honest, I am very hesitant. I applied to a lot of programs (above the average). Thus, I am hopeful something will come out of this.

I'm also trying to take this perspective. I also think that remembering how many people are getting rejected shows how selective sites need to be and that because of the nature of the match process there could still be some great sites for phase 2 (as much as I don't want to think about it).

Very true.

I think someone else posted that there was a discrepancy between their brochure and website (one thing said 11/25 and the other said 11/29). So I think they're contacting people on 11/29.

Hi y'all. I had a question for those of you who had received invitations from Sepulveda VA. I emailed them with my interview date preferences and haven't heard back from them to confirm my interview date and wanted to check in with others to see if this was an isolated situation or if others are still waiting, too.

Thank you! Good luck to everyone - we got this!

I would email Dr. Kulick again if it's been more than 3 days in the case that your email didn't go through-- she's wonderful! Most of my sites have confirmed interview dates the next day.

I'm finding that it's much better, though not easier, to just hope for interviews amidst rejections. When I focus on specific sites of interest, awaiting their notification deadlines or watching others who have heard from different tracks at those sites, I become significantly more stressed. It is essentially convincing myself that all my eggs are in one basket even though they are not.

How I'm feeling at the moment...
