APPIC Internship Interview Invitation Thread (2020)

One of my supervisors at my site just gave me such a sweet pep-talk. I am going into the match for a second time in pediatric neuro as I didn't match last year, and I currently have more rejections than invites with 9 more to go. I was feeling a little upset and he comes into my office and just tells me so many positive qualities about my work ethic etc. and tells me not to worry. I am glad I have someone in my corner...feeling pretty down today...

From their brochure:
"Invitations to interview will be issued by electronic mail, no later than November 29, 2019. Applicants not selected to interview will receive notification by electronic mail no later than December 4, 2019."

Thank you! I am glad to hear that she's wonderful! I did email her again to just confirm that she received my email, so I will wait a bit and email again. I'm sure she is swamped with emails, too!

Sorry to hear that, but I liked the "ask and you shall receive" comment. Yeah...I am banging my head against the wall here (not literally) trying to figure out how this is happening. They should make a movie off of this social experiment, starring Samuel L Jackson in some capacity.

don't go there yet. hang in there! it's still early in the process & sometimes it just feels somewhat arbitrary...who knows what specific individual reviewers are drawn to...

I also saw that, but haven't heard back from them. I saw the person posted "mass email," and so I'm assuming I got rejected. But who knows?

Some friends of mine received invites at 9pm central (from a site that is central time too). I imagine folks sometimes take time after their work days to be sure invites get sent out as quickly as possible.
