APPIC Interview Invitation Thread (2021)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I reached out by email today and received a rejection (from the counseling center).
Sorry to hear that, I feel I am probably in the same boat as I have not heard back either. Was it a personal email in response to yours or was it a mass email rejection?

No (important 😆) emails yesterday OR today (although it is still early yet). Seems like every time I think it's going to be a day full of notifications I am far off. At the very least, most sites set their notification deadline for two weeks from now. Can't wait for this waiting process to be OVER and for the next waiting process for Feb 19th to begin :smack:

Has anyone heard from University of Denver, Graduate School of Professional Psychology, specifically from the
Nicoletti-Flater Associates site? The notification deadline is today and I have heard people post that they have heard from the other sites within the consortium

Has anyone received confirmation about their interview date with the OSU Wexner Medical Center (Adult Psychopathology track)?
I applied to the neuropsych/neuroscience track and haven't heard from them yet. I received my notification email and responded the same day on Wed, 11/18. I sent them a follow-up email on Wed, 11/25 and they send the following reply on the same day, but I haven't heard since:

XXX –

We do our best to provide you with your first choice of interview date. I am still in the process of attempting to schedule people and we will get back to you as soon as possible with a confirmation.

Was it just for adult health or did the email include the other tracks as well (I.e. trauma, pediatric health)?

has anyone received notification from the Tampa VA? I’m surprised it appears nothing has been released yet despite them only offering 2 dates.

Congrats to all who have been receiving interviews!! And for those who are feeling a little disheartened, there’s still plenty of time 🙂

I'm waiting on the CMHIFL site but haven't heard anything yet. I was trying to see if they have separate notification dates for each track but I can't find anything.

Their notification date in APPIC is 12/15, but in their brochure it says 12/1. I imagine they’ll notify sometime this week.

Has anyone been hearing from university college counseling sites? I only applied to UCCs and I've only seen a couple posted on here. They're all in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic area too, so IDK if that's a factor as to why I haven't really heard from them.

I’m still waiting on this one too. Good luck!
I would imagine that most sites will notify closest to, or on, the latest date posted. I don't know what it is like at other sites, but at ours it is harder to modify information on the web than it is to modify it in the APPIC Directory. And I agree with people, and think COVID-19 (and all of the effects on staffing, service provision and other tasks of psychologists) may be affecting turn around time for some sites. Hang in there, everyone.

14 of my 17 are college sites and I’ve only heard from two. It seems that type of site are some of the last to notify.

From what I understand, they tend to notify later rather than sooner.

I didn't apply to any but many friends did and they have heard nothing. From those I know who are at UCCs currently for a prac they said they aren't surprised things are a bit behind compared to last year, but did not say why. I'm guessing it's ongoing stress regarding moving services to tele and the increasingly high demand for counseling at colleges.
