APPIC Interview Invitation Thread (2021)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Was it just for adult health or did the email include the other tracks as well (I.e. trauma, pediatric health)?
it was just for the adult health track, as this was the only track I applied to. based on other posts on here it looks like the neurodevelopmental and trauma tracks may have sent out emails as well.

has anyone received notification from the Tampa VA? I’m surprised it appears nothing has been released yet despite them only offering 2 dates.

Congrats to all who have been receiving interviews!! And for those who are feeling a little disheartened, there’s still plenty of time 🙂
I know someone who is currently an intern there and on the review committee. She said their application reviews were due to the training director on 11/27, so hopefully will hear something soon!

No (important 😆) emails yesterday OR today (although it is still early yet). Seems like every time I think it's going to be a day full of notifications I am far off. At the very least, most sites set their notification deadline for two weeks from now. Can't wait for this waiting process to be OVER and for the next waiting process for Feb 19th to begin :smack:
same! i havent heard anything today even though several of them list today as the hear back date

Anyone heard from Emory adult/gero neuropsych?
Someone posted that they got an interview offer on November 18 to the adult/peds track, but I don't think anyone has posted about adult/gero. Several people have posted wondering the same thing, so I think a lot of us are in the same boat!

Has anyone heard from University of Denver, Graduate School of Professional Psychology, specifically from the
Nicoletti-Flater Associates site? The notification deadline is today and I have heard people post that they have heard from the other sites within the consortium
I am waiting on this too! Fingers crossed for us!

Has anyone heard from Univ of Minnesota Medical School (Peds)? I saw that some people have received rejections, but have not seen anyone post about receiving invitations. ??

The master list does note a Neuro track invitation on 11/18. The master list may include information not available on the forum itself, such as DMs. But, as is always the case, there is a possibility of interview until one receives an official rejection. The deadlines posted on APPIC are the standards to which a site is held, per APPIC guidelines, not any dates that may differ within site materials. It seems particularly true now that it is worthwhile to remain hopeful even following a wave of invitations, as the master lists from the past couple years suggest some irregularities this year. I find it helpful to use the search function within forums and within threads to find specific posts.

Wishing everyone the best of luck! I have only two with deadlines today and most others are 12/15.

Has anyone been hearing from university college counseling sites? I only applied to UCCs and I've only seen a couple posted on here. They're all in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic area too, so IDK if that's a factor as to why I haven't really heard from them.
I applied to several and have only heard back from 20% of them. I think we should be getting a lot more in the next week or two, hang in there!

OK this might sound ridiculous, but could you write/dm me the number they called from? I got a call from an Evanston number while I was in providing teletherapy and assumed it was phone-a-thon because I'm a Northwestern alumna (go 'cats) and today is Giving Tuesday.

I know a couple people have gotten adult/gero invitations (around 11/16 or 11/18) but haven't posted here specifically. As always, hoping for the best, but it is hard not to think the worst (my other rejections were on the notification date after others had gotten offers ~a week or two before).

For Rutgers, was this for adult forensics?
Congrats!

Has anyone reached out to sites they were rejected from to inquire about why they were rejected? I was talking to my prac supervisor and she told me how when she applied she decided to reach out since she had to go to phase two and sites actually asked her why she didn’t reach out earlier! I didn’t think this was something we should/needed to do but just wanted to get other peoples’ thoughts on this.

Hmm that's super interesting! I would def reach out if I was likely going to phase 2 or if I still wanted to pursue a post-doc at a site, but that wouldn't be until closer to the end of interview season. I wonder what the rationale for reaching out earlier would be?

Has anyone heard from the Adult & Chemical Dependency Track?

I didn't apply to any but many friends did and they have heard nothing. From those I know who are at UCCs currently for a prac they said they aren't surprised things are a bit behind compared to last year, but did not say why. I'm guessing it's ongoing stress regarding moving services to tele and the increasingly high demand for counseling at colleges.
Hmmmmm that seems to make sense, my old supervisor said that this year is really hectic bc some sites are trying to send students home after Thanksgiving break. I kinda figured that the timeline of the semester would be really different this year!
