I feel you, this one hurt a lot. This site takes so few interviews that I was bracing myself for it. It's so frustrating to be rejected from a site that feels like a great fit and that you've been looking forward to 🙁 I have had a few of those so far too. Trying to remember we only go to one place in the end, anyway. Sending good vibes to you!

I submitted on the 7th because they posted on their website that they extended their deadline till the 7th. Do you think they’re doing rolling interviews? This was a top site for me 🙁

Curious about this too. Another poster pointed out a discrepancy between their APPIC posted notification date (11/23) and the date in their brochure (11/27 for interviews, 12/2 for rejections I believe).

11/27 The Friday after thanksgiving seems like an odd day to send out invites, but then again it could happen

Odd yes, but still a possibility because VAs are open that day even if some staff take off. Besides, hopefully less people are traveling due to the pandemic! Although even if we have to wait until Monday, it’ll come before we know it 🙂

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that! I know some of my cohort haven't heard back yet and they counted it as a rejection, did you get an email? If not, it's possible there is still hope because some sites do send out their invites in waves. Regardless, things will definitely work out. We still have a big chunk of sites that we will hear from in December! *sending virtual hugs*

Thank you! Hugs so appreciated. I haven't gotten an email yet--there are a number of sites that I've seen people post here or people in my cohort have gotten interviews with and I haven't heard anything. Just two rejections and radio silence.

Ugh, well that can certainly be disheartening. That happened for me with another site, and I know many of my friends are still waiting to hear back and only have a handful of rejections so far. Plus, I think with the impact of COVID pushing everything back, I bet the majority of us will be getting more responses in the first few weeks of December.
 
Don't feel dejected just yet, everyone! My training director was telling us how sites are more delayed this year. And you never know how things work out. I got rejected from a site that was at the very bottom of my list early last week and felt super depressed for a few days before getting the interview offer from UPenn, which was a reach school for me. It's still early and anything can happen!

Yes, Ivy League sites will always bias towards Clinical Psychology PhD (versus PsyD or Counseling Psychology PhD).

Just got an email rejection from Oregon State Hospital so looks like those notifications are going out. For everyone feeling depressed/demoralized...I completely empathize! I've gotten multiple rejections at this point and some for sites I thought I was a great fit for, so we are all in the same boat it sounds like. Be kind to yourselves! I'm positive each of you are wonderfully competitive applicants, and this process is tough for everyone! You're certainly not alone.
