Not to kiss any applicants' asses, but, for the two days I've met them, this year, like last, I am impressed. I have no idea about their academic records, but they are impressive people - funny, smart, well-rounded, the chicks are hot. I'm happy I don't have to make the rank list. The question "could I work with this person?" is answered affirmatively almost unanimously.

Did I mention, the chicks are hot? I am not kidding.

what program are you at apollyon?!

Now that would be telling!

You have to guess (or search this whole network diligently).

Well, here is a hint:

"Apollyon" is a resident at a place that begins with "D" and ends in "Uke."
His real initials are "W.C." and he recieved undergraduate and osteopathic medical degrees from Nova Southeastern University.

I didn't know he went to Nova. You didn't perchance do a rotation at Bayfront? We seemed to get a steady flow of students from Nova there.

Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy off bro. Trust me.

I know for a fact that he's actually a smart, yet slightly sarcastic, flying pig affectionately known as "Oinkers" who practices Emergency Medicine in Maine while touring the country and bringing Krispy Kremes to hungry residents everywhere.

Random? Yes. But I'm on vacation now so it's allowed.

And, BTW, you already have more than your share of attractive residents/attendings at your progam, my friend. Want to spread the wealth a little?

Do a search on the forums and this is one of the many posts you will find regarding Apollyon at Duke:

"Scrambled into Duke!

This is after getting a mistaken offer from Kalamazoo (someone else with the same first name, and similar last name - not until the fax did I know it wasn't me!), good words late last week from Drew, a call back from DRH saying they filled, and Metropolitan still having 2 spots open at 3pm. Wash U had their spot filled by 12:15. VCU (who haven't filled 2 years in a row, now) filled by 3pm.

Maimonides telephone has been continually busy, as was Mayo (until I gave up at 1pm). Cook County wants the paper app only (the CAF from ERAS), by mail only...and the Brooklyn Hospital isn't even going to look until tomorrow.

I'm not sure what the deal was with Duke having 7 spots listed - the PD said that there were a few spots open, but they still filled some of them; she said that she was on the phone continuously trying to find out what was going on (until, of course, I strode in! ).

Mt. Sinai with one open spot, and I don't match...thanks."

Wrong. He's actually a transvestite who works as an off-shore oil platform worker after having been relocated through the FBI's witness protection program for testifying against the Cambodian mobsters Wisconsin. The interviews he's referring to are for the oil company.

There, I just blew his cover.

Oh - this gives it away:

Apollyon,

DUKE!!! Great Job!!! Love to hear a success story especially from a fellow FMG! Hopefully Annette will have a similiar tale. I heard really great things about Duke and was shocked to see their unfilled spots, I have a friend there doing IM who is very happy. I hear NC is great also. As for me I would love to go to NYP...

Thus, Apollyon is (drumroll......) (Edited by Moderator), MD

Plus, it is further confirmed when he acknowledges he "spends way too much time online...." in his description..Hehehehe.

The Pre-edit of your post is likely to be correct, but Apollyon is most definately not a grad of NSU with the initials WC.

Q

So, to clear up any confusion by the misidentification of Apollyon. While it may be true that he is a resident here at Duke, his initials are most definitely NOT W.C. and he did not graduate from NSU. Those 2 identifiers belong to me. As southerndoc eluded to, I matched at Duke this year and graduated from NSU. So, don't worry Apollyon, your secret is safe with me!!

Hey Quinn,

I saw a billboard for TGH while I was watching Pitt beat the Bulls.
