This is my graduation photo. Is this acceptable to use as my application photo?

I dont get why everybody freaks out about pictures and stuff on here.....
If you're not a tool, and you've got nothing to hide, why bother hiding?
How you present yourself is important.
Every applicant has hundreds of photos of themselves.
The one they choose shows a lot about their judgement and maturity.

You must get countless people in their graduation regalia since so many are applying a few weeks after ceremonies. Do you consider that not professional?

Regalia is common (though not preferred).
You would have to see the weird things people are doing in their regalia to get an idea of what I'm recommending against!

Don't use that photo!
When we say professional photo, we mean: a head shot in professional dress (smiling).
A glamour shot taken by a professional is not necessarily a professional photo.
Smiling ?? I remembered alot of school specifying that you should not smile and have a relaxed face.. (mine turned out like a mug shot and I look like a angry murderer)

Are family photos okay?

I'm cheesing it in mine... my coworkers said I look like a choir director at a private Christian school. 🙁

I'm willing to believe it. I have seen stranger requests...
Double checked and couldnt find it, but I am 85% sure that I have seen it somewhere. But just for reference to anyone watching take my comments as misinformation and disregard.

These pics are usually asked to be a few inches across, or sometimes they request ~400 pixels or simply a very small filesize. Anything fancier than a recent phone's camera pic is gonna be overkill, just throw on your suits and find a nice background

IPhone is fine.
I live alone, and was uncomfortable sending medical schools a "selfie"

The passport photo works better (in my opinion) because they have a neutral white background ready to go instead of whatever color wall you have in your home.

Plus a lot of the secondaries I wrote requested "A Passport-style photo".
Not saying iphone isn't a valid option, I just feel like a real passport style photo might be better.

Plus they're already cropped to the correct proportions so you don't have to try to get each school's cropping software to work in 3 different browsers!

ONLY if you're the kid and managed to survive this...

This photo could work for so many of the secondary essays I had
-Describe a challenge you have faced
-Describe a time you were out of your comfort zone
-Describe an experience that profoundly affected you
