Application Update vs Letter of Interest

Just to clarify, when a school says they do not accept updates from applicants they are referring to LOI's as well correct? I find it difficult to give a school any sort of an indication I'm very interested in them post-secondary if I can't really contact them at all. Thank you in advance

I think they mean application updates and LOIs.

Yeah, they don't want you to contact them at all. They are basically saying, "we will judge you on your application, not based on how hard you try to convince us you really, truly, want to matriculate here." Just leave it alone, send updates and LOIs to schools that want them, and you will get in where you get in. :luck:
 
I would probably wait until October/November. September seems pretty... jumpy.
 
I got published in a paper last month. When is the best time to send in an update? Or should I just wait until the interview to mention it?
