What are its advantages?

I am going to be taking summer courses and the 1st session ends around June 20 and the 2nd session ends in the beginning of August. Should I apply and send in my AADSAS at the beginning of June anyways, before these grades come out (even though they're integral to raising my GPA)? Is there an easy way to update my grades before August, when they start reviewing my file?

Definitely apply early, this is very crucial especially with how tough it is to get into dental school these days. You can easily update your GPA/classes through AADSAS. They send you an academic update form. The best way to do it however, is to just fax the schools your transcripts as soon as your new grades come out. Be sure to let the schools know ahead of time that you are expecting good grades from the semester.

Applying early holds all of the advantages. DO send your application in and then update it later. Would the grades on those summer courses *really* raise your GPA that much (I don't know your situation but I doubt that one summer term can help an overall GPA much).

Even so, getting the application in early is more of a benefit than waiting and sending it later, even with a bit of a higher GPA. You can easily update the schools with your new grades by sending them official transcripts after the new grades are posted (I wouldn't mess with AADSAS for this, just send them right to the schools).

Another advantage of applying early is that a few schools start sending out interviews in July. You could potentially have three interviews before school even starts. That is great because it is tough to keep up with school when you are missing so many days.
