Hi, I have a quick question. What if one has submitted his/her application to AADSAS in May, but it wasn't actually COMPLETED until Aug or something? (eg. due to late LOR, etc.) Would that be considered to be the same as submitting the application in Aug? Or will that person still have an advantage over others who submitted their application (with all the necessary info) in Aug?

Submit in May app is processed, could take anywhere from 6-8 weeks. After that your application will arrive at the Dental schools and the file will remain incomplete until the required LOR's are received. Which sounds like August. The LOR's will only take a fews days to arrive at the schools. So File will be complete and ready for review in August. However, if you wait until August, then submit application at AADSAS then it will take 6-8 weeks to process and won't arrive until September. Which sounds better to you?

They will take a few weeks if you use AADSAS to send the LOR's. To avoid the delay send them to each school yourself. Otherwise AADSAS does take some more time.

If I were to send the letter of recs and transcript myself to ADDSAS on opening day (midmay), would all of this be sent out with the first batch of applications that are sent out?

Can i not press submit lets say like may 20th and send them my LORs like june 1st?? Also i was curious about shadowing, i will be getting in some more shadowing at the begining of this summer, can i add this to AADSAS lets say in like july or will that be to late? BLAH IM SO CONFUSED

Yes, they would go with the rest of your application. The OP won't have his LOR's availble until August, if he then decides to use AADSAS the process will take longer naturally. To AADSAS---they sit at AADSAS until they decide to send---Arrive at school, when?...who know's with AADSAS. But if you just submit everything at once then you are fine.

Well, it's quite posssible your application won't be ready to be sent by June 1st and so the LOR's will arrive at AADSAS before they send your application. So in your case which is different then the original OP's you will still be okay even if the app was sent. They'll send them and your app will be complete by Mid-June. Still it probably won't even be sent by June 1st and so your LOR's will go with your completed application.

You can't really "add" stuff to your application once you submit it. Except for the academic update offered in December/January. You could anticipate the additional shadowing hours and include them. That' what I would do. It's kind of like the "planned session" of school work. You are planning to shadow some extra and so I think it would be okay. Good Luck
