Hey guys. I'm fairly new here and just wanted to throw out a quick question. So ideally I would apply on June 1st and that would be considered applying early (obviously), but my question......how late would you still be considered early applying? July? August? My plans were to apply in August (to make sure I have all my pre-req's finished) but I want to make sure that isn't too terribly late. Thanks again!

there are a lot of posts on this so search would help.
but to answer your qs, now august doesn't seem as early as it was a couple of years ago. for this cycle i submitted everything late august, got into a couple of places on dec 1st and my first choice in january... but i would say for the upcoming cycle, end of july/early august might be the position i'm in because a lot of ppl are learning the important of submitting early, competition's going up, etc.
you actually don't need all the pre reqs finished before you apply so it might be good to just submit early and then update the schools on the grades you got from your summer courses.

i would say applying by the middle of july would still be considered early

Thanks! I had no idea you could submit then just add grades after the summer....

Actually you can't add grades to AADSAS till the Fall update comes out. If you add grades after the summer then you won't be able to add Fall grades later on, on AADSAS. However you can always send your transcripts to schools to show your academic achievements for the past semester. Most schools are cool with this and see it as just one more thing to assess you by. Be careful though there are a few that specifically state not to send them transcripts but they are few and far in between.

to be honest...apply as early as possible...unless u have an outstanding GPA & DAT score...there are so many applicants that apply, that if ur an avg joe the best shot is applyin ASAP

Yeah. It doesn't matter if you don't have all of your classes done or you're waiting for summer grades to pull your GPA up just a tiny bit. Submitting ASAP gives you more of an advantage than any of that. Submit it as soon as everything is ready. Don't forget to make sure your LORs are in early, because without your application isn't complete. But dont wait to submit because you haven't taken the DAT/waiting to finish prereqs, whatever.
