Hey Guys,

I am a graduating senior this year. I signed in for the late August MCAT date, and I was thinking in applying to this cycle without a committee letter from my school. Otherwise, my GPA is pretty decent (close to 3.8) and I've been doing shadowing, volunteering at local hospital, some volunteering in south america and some research (less than 6 months).

My questions are:
1) should I apply to this cycle? if so, when is the latest date to apply?
2) should I wait for the next cycle?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I would apply next year. Taking late August MCAT means your app won't be complete until late september

No and yes.

Apply once and early with the best possible app.

Your MCAT score won't come in until late September. Since your application is not complete until your MCAT score is in, this would mean that some people would have already interviewed at the schools you are applying to before your application was even complete. This is not optimal. I'd wait until next cycle.
