Hi everyone,

Just wanted to write a quick thank you to everyone that makes this forum what it is. I know SDN gets a lot of critique at times just for the bias that naturally comes with the skewed population using this site, but seriously, this site completely changed the game for me. I came into this process without a single leg of advice from anyone in the field- no advisors, no previous mentors, no family members in the field, etc. -- I was overwhelmed with the process and had absolutely no idea how to even begin.

The advice/documentation of everyone's journeys helped me begin to form strategies tailored to my own weaknesses as an applicant - and at times perhaps made me feel separated from the pack of all the well-achieved individuals on this site - but also connected me with people who similarly were trying to attain every advantageous angle they could to better their chances.

I want to mostly say to anyone whose still worried about where they stand or what their future is going to look like this cycle or the next, have faith, but also take **** into your own hands. There is such a breadth of knowledge on this site that you truly can craft your own strategy that gives you a leg up based on your application as a whole. Do your research on here while simultaneously not letting others' successes or pessimism discourage you. Have patience.

Thanks to everyone! Surreal that this journey has taken such a huge step from where I first began. Best of luck to everyone out there still gunning in this cycle!

You and me both, sis. I wouldn’t be where I am today without SDN and the generosity of this community.

Congratulations on your acceptance. I can’t wait for both of us to be doctors.
