Okay. The folks who were verified on the 14th (last Weds) obviously have had their applications go out to schools, because a group got secondary invites from OSU (a non-screening school). First batch already went out.

I submitted 6/20 at 3:24 (yes I looked it up 😳 ) and I'm still just "ready for review". And they already had my transcript. I think the AMCAS people need to start working weekends.

On friday, I don't think they even got to 6-20. Seems like only 6-19. 👍 Oh, and all of us verified on the 20th didn't get sent out to schools yet (i.e. no 2nd-aries from non-screeners).

Hmmm I submitted 6/19 around 11:20 or so but I'm still "Ready for Review." Maybe there were a lot of people who pushed "submit" as soon as the scores came out! I'm counting on Monday...

hey, is it possible that schools are just notified of who's applying without actually getting the apps? someone had posted that he got a 2ndary (i think it was UMN duluth) before his app was even verified.

okay, actually the puget sound, but it still ocean water and coastal in my opinion. woooooohoooooo, just about an hour north of seattle. woooohooooo. yeah, hope i don't fall behind. i'll be thinking about even though i am on vacation. you can never get a break from trying to get yourself into med school

I suppose it is possible, but again, the people that have already submitted (and a whole group who was verified 6/14) got emails from different schools inviting them to do the secondary.

Whatever you want to glean from that you can. 👍

I'm stressed out that I haven't finished my personal statement, haven't reviewed my entered grades for the 3rd time, and am still waiting on 2 transcripts to arrive. 😱 👎

I took a class at my high school for college credit, through a college that my high school had a working relationship with. Consequently, this was accepted at the college I ultimately enrolled in as credit. My question is this: since I took this class technically through the other college, the information does appear on my transcript that the college I attended will be sending you. As such, do I still need to submit a transcript request for the other college? I am unsure because I have not attended that college at all, and it is only that class that I took at my high school that makes me have any connection whatsoever to that college (i.e. it's doubtful that I am on record as ever having been a student). Furthermore, it is on my transcript from my college anyway.

Next is what I should do if I took an AP class in high school and while I did not get any credit (or grade), I was exempted from the history requirement of undergrad. So, while I have the title of the course, I did not put in a course number, number of credits, or a grade. If it states that I was exempt on my college transcript, will doing this delay my application?

This confuses me. But I will try to help you out.
While in high school, you took a college level course at a junior college.
This goes as HS (High School) Designation on your AMCAS.
While in high school, you took some AP credits.
These go as FR (Freshman) Designation on your AMCAS if your University gave you credit. Both of these things are clearly detailed in the instructions.
Now. Transcripts.
Since you took a class through that community college, I bet they have a record for you. They have to. I am pretty sure that AMCAS will want to see that transcript, especially if the course at that college is cross-referenced on your University transcript. I would have it sent to be safe.
Finally, you need to report your AP credits exactly how your college does on your transcript.

Hang in there. I am just keeping tabs so none of us have the impression that people aren't getting secondaries (of any kind) when they ARE. Also if people let us know when they start getting "file complete" at schools that would be good as well.

My pre-med advisor said to apply in the "Js", June-July. You're still in the game. Relax and go for it.

Follow your transcript on this one. If the class is listed and you have AP credit, classify it as AP. If you did not get credit, but were exempt from a requirement, list the course title and select the "exempt" classification on AMCAS.

this is right about the transcript from the college you took a class at in HS. i had the same thing. you need to send the transcript.

Do you live on the west coast? I can't think of any other reasons for it to take so long for transcripts to arrive. Did you send them certified mail or anything?

Well, my school is not on the West Coast, and they are the ones who sent it. I assume standard USPS 😡 I am just hoping that AMCAS has it sitting in their pile, and haven't updated my status yet. I will wait a few more days then send another.

Yea, I've got my two heavy hitters, a science and physician, who have not completed letters, and are not responding to emails.

On a lighter note, I've not been verified, but my transcript finally showed up! After 2 whole weeks!!! Ready for Review

Yea...I was in the same boat. The mouse had been hanging over the sumbit button all weekend, but then I just couldn't do it! Had to look over my list for the 10th time or read the personal statement...which I don't even know if I was reading correctly by the end because I basically had what I wanted to say memorized...Hopefully we will be verified within a week or two!!

i submitted in the afternoon (4:06 EDT, to be exact) on 6/16. all my transcripts (3) were already in. i went under review last friday morning. still under review today.

Seriously, once you get secondaries, you'll wish you didn't have them! This is some hard work, y'all! 😀

I am trying to balance the fact that these essays need to be WELL DONE, not just "Slap it together and try to get a BETTER TIME STAMP than everyone." It is not worth it to me to possibly have mistakes. Now I know that I can't take as long as I did on my PS, but still.

If you go to the actual AMCAS log in page (to log into your application), you'll see the lovely note. I thought it was a joke 🙁

I received verification from a school today that they have my AMCAS application--it is a screener. Here's to hoping I get a secondary!

In the meantime I have started the essays for OSU and Columbia. No essays for MCW! Woo! I am taking my application picture tonight and getting that ready.

While you guys are waiting for your verification, get a picture of yourself on a digital camera, take it to a kodak machine (or photoshop it, whatever) and get that ready to go. That way if you have short secondaries you can send them in without having to wait to get your picture all set.

Good Idea Jackie...I'm certainly going to get that taken care of tonight or tomorrow. As of 3:51pm today, I'm still "Ready for Review"...I think the 20th/21st influx will really delay one's verification. 🙁 Hopefully soon...

My AMCAS app looks the same as it did before I submitted. I assume that in a week or so it will say "under review somewhere"?

On the main menu when you log in, on the bottom left you will see your application status...if your transcripts are already in, you should see "ready for review." Good luck 🙂
