I'm just starting a new 4 year cycle on Certlink this year and finished my second quarter of questions. Are the questions getting harder? Usually I'm scoring well "above peers" without really trying, but now after 20 questions I'm near the 60% cut off. I guess I have 3.5 years to bring the total up, but now I'm going to be much more nervous taking these questions. Maybe I've just gotten a difficult batch; I'll change up the topics for quarters 3 and 4 a bit. I never used to really care about the questions, but now I'm worried!

Are any “grandfathered“ folks still around? I was but thought that it was unfair/bull**** and voluntarily recertified. Plus, you lacked “ cred” if you didn’t. I have been gone a long time though. My “ join” date doesn’t reflect that. I was here in 1998ish with LADoc, et.al.
Mikesheree- - without the hyphen. I got banned for saying something nasty.😂

Grandfathered in as well here. I never opted to recertify, which was never an issue-even as a forensic pathologist that made many court appearances.

I have found them more tedious and poorly-written than before, especially with emphasis on the “least wrong” answer structure. My guess is they are getting flak for being too easy and/or trying to shunt people into having to take an unnecessary and expensive in person test in Tampa. ABPath are crooks and I wouldn’t put a grift past them!

Indeed. Hospital med director was stylistic “different” set of hoops. And y’all are right. It’s the bucks for ABP, et. al.

I completely agree. They’re not only poorly written but also very poorly coded. One answer that I gave was 100% for the prompt I had but it was scored as incorrect. The explanation given didn’t make sense given the vignette that was prompted.

I wonder if the call out for question writers has anything to do with this - but they’re clearly short examiner talent as of late.
