Are medical students attractive?

Okay I don't want to sound conceited but I'm actually afraid my looks will hurt me during the interview. Let's just say that I was born extra sexy...People always tell me I look like a porn star (but not in a trashy way). The worst is that females all hate me and males all think I'm going to be ditsy.

Okay I know I know, I actually have pretty low-self esteem but everyone tells me I'm hot. It's awkward. I just don't want the interviewer to see me and think, oh...a big boobed sexy girl, probably stupid...:(:(:(:(

Don't you realize if you make it to the interview part your obviously intelligent? So then your hot and intelligent, something that is very very very rare haha so you'd be good to go. Worked out for me

No of course I realize that but it's just that I know I have pissed off a few female interviewers for jobs. My ex-coworker was so mean to me and used to stare at me behind my back and stuff, I quit mainly because of her, she was old like 55 or something and was a hater!

I'm weird trust me. I just don't look like my personality at all so I'm really hoping to show them the more intellectual and laid back side of me.

I'm glad it worked out for you!:thumbup:

I've seen plenty of women who have large woman parts cover them up appropriately in business attire before. Did you offend your female interviewer's by not covering up?

Just because you have big breast doesn't not mean you are automatically labeled by society as a "porn star", just carry yourself intelligently and no one will think twice.

Ive got double D's and a small waist, and while I sometimes do get unwanted attention, it is indeed very possible to dress professionally and show all of your womenly .....brains. Wear a sports bra, a button up, light on the make up, and call it a day. Ta daa!!!!

oh, and NO TIGHT FITTING CLOTHING!

At least thats what I plan on doing for med school interviews.

doctors can afford plastic surgery. so don't worry about how they look in med school... there's always room for improvement in the future!

THink about about it this way what if two ugly people just plastic surgery to look good and got married and are going to have kids. They just screwed their kid with their ugly genes, it is as if the ugly forest fell on their kid. Poor Kid.

Oh of course I covered up but being a 36 double D and a size 6 doesn't help....I don't go to interviews all hanging out and stuff. Also if you aren't a female then you don't understand the female hate mentality.

You are right just b/c I have big boobs doesn't make me a porn star, the rest of me isn't bad either.....I just am naturally really sexy looking, a lot of sex appeal, a lot of people have said I should model or something but I'm kind of a tom boy. I prefer spending a day on my surfboard then standing around looking pretty.

I do carry myself intellectually however, once again, being a good looking girl, females are bias...I mainly think it's b/c they think my boobs are fake, so they always throw me really dirt looks. And being Asian doesn't help, it's just unnatural.

It took me 8 hours yesterday to find a suit that fit....I finally found one I can button the buttons on. Button up shirts DON'T work on my at all...I normally wear a size M and had to buy XL shirt just so it won't look skanky. Also every suit I put on I looked like some porno secretary or something. I finally found one that made me look professional and not like a *****.

I'm just saying, I actually hate the way I look. I always just wanted to be normal or average so I don't stand out so much. Never mind, I regret posting this already....I think it's time I quit SDN all together, nothing positive ever comes out of people's mouths.

May I bring your attention to the picture thread? :D

Even if you do seem a bit of a basketcase..

All the more reason to prove them wrong!

As someone who is not in medical school but knows 100's of medical students I can give an objective opinion. Guys are on average better than average. Also guys tend to be humble. You may see threads on sdn from guys asking if med school would get them hot chicks. But those are trolls or in the minority.. Most girls though are unattractive. I don't mean fat. But basically a bunch of 5's who think they are 8's. Pretentious too. But I don't blame them. Medical schools create an environment where guys thrive and girls are subjected to all kinds of stress.

Phew... I'm glad you look like a classy porn star and not some trampy one.

well, there's actually only 2-3 obese people in our class of 145 and most are actually very fit. That being said, I think most of my classmates are attractive

LOL I love how this turned into people talking about their cup size...wtf??

I have to admit, someone embellishing their physical characteristics and talking about how beautiful they are ad nauseum is much more entertaining then the droves of SDNers talking about how smart they are and why they are the perfect med school applicant.

This brand of conceitedness is far less distasteful

My friend, we agree again.

I hope you get in. Med schools need more hot girls with double D's.

Hey hey!! Not everyone is horrible! I happen to have those same measurements, and I know how much of a struggle it is for people to take you seriously. I'm blonde to top it off, so I get that stereotype too.

Yeah, button up shirts are no good, but I'm glad you found a suit that makes you look professional. I have special minimizer bras so I look more like a C or D rather than a DD. I got mine at macy's if you wanna check it out :) The bras are not pretty to look at, but it helped me look more normal!

Hope this helps! And don't worry about the haters!

I beg to differ..I am a chemistry major and I manage to take care of myself everyday...And OP, you must go to a ugly school, because all the girls and guys in my undergrad are attractive, expecially the biology majors...

Again...engineering school in the mountains. :p

Ugh, this thread just reminded me that I'm in the worst shape of my life. I think if I devote the next 8 months before med school to get my body into shape, that would be a very worthwhile way of spending my time.

I just don't see how anybody can take a fat doctor seriously. I mean, would you really listen to a guy telling you that you need to eat more healthy and hit the gym when it's obvious he needs to run a few laps himself? I know I'd have a hard time.

And I can definitely see, even as a male, how being an attractive woman can be a disadvantage in medical school and the interviews. Considering most of the medical school population were the "smart" kids in college, it probably means they leaned more to the nerdy side of the social spectrum. So, of course all the hot popular kids become the "bitches" or "*******s" or whatever you wanna call them because the smart kids don't feel like they can stand up to those people socially/physically. Now you have these smart kids choosing who gets to get into medical school, and what do you get? All the women interviewers are gonna give positive reviews to the more attractive guys cuz they want eye candy now (and maybe to give the girls in their past position a better ratio, or something), and they'll probably give the attractive girls not as great because they're jealous and feel like the girl would get by on her looks.

That and medical school is a conservative institution to begin with.

It's great being a guy sometimes

To the OP, Just like girls with tiny boobs that "hate their figure" you can get a breast reduction if you are tired of the sexiness. I think it is very possible to dress professionally with all body types and most discussion rebutting this is probably to just call attention. While I will admit it is more difficult to find clothes that fit whatever body type, it is very possible. You just have to forgo some of those outfits that you see on the stick figure models.

Being hot will only help you in admissions, so if you are hot, your "sexiness" will only help. Think about it, two applicants with the same stats and same everything else.....but one is hot and one is not....who would you rather pick to represent your school??

I agree with this but by the time you make it all the way to the interview, I think "wow they are smart AND hot too!" I dont know it just makes sense to me.

women do not fall into the two categories of ugly and SEXXI, aka prudes and sluts. just because a women is good looking does not mean it will attract the wrath of non-goodlooking women.

women can be perfectly attractive without being "porn star looking". many are. those who are "porn star looking" can look perfectly attractive without much change.

amazingly attractive thandie newton looking beautiful

thandie-newton-metropolitan-museum-of-art-costume-institute-gala.jpg

less beautiful, more skankyish.

ps girls who are big on top can look just as beautiful.

salma does not look like a porn star.

wtf mate? WTF happened to this thread?

I don't know, bud.

It went from me having a valid concern...to me being less concerned...to people suggesting BREAST REDUCTIONS(WTF???!)...now I'm concerned again.

I get compared to Kiera Knightley, Natalie Portman, and Audrey Hepburn a lot. Classy girls.

I'm pre-medin', so yes, there are attractive people out there.

OMGWTFBBQ!? how dare I suggest a breast reduction! who do I think I am?!

to the OP- I take the breast reduction comment back

just messin ;) it seemed like a conern

Considering that the OP was VTBuc, I should hope he's not in need of a breast reduction...

I was thinking maybe I needed to hit the treadmill after that... :(

As a hospital volunteer, there are a few med students I come across that I would consider hot, cute, sexy, etc.

not that the others are unattractive, they just don't fit spicy.

btw, the diagrams are hilarious

 LOL. I have to scroll to the top of the page and remind myself the thread title every couple of posts or so.

Moobs are a genuine concern for some guys. It is no laughing matter, even though I am laughing as I write this.

I didn't read all the other nonsense in this thread but there are ALOT of really attractive girls in my class. It was probably the most surprising thing about the first month of med school.
