I am curious that any student who had low GPA or PCAT score successfully got accepted at a pharm school. What about your non-science GPA. Any comment would be appreciated.🙂

what is non traditional?
i dont think i had terribly bad stats but they aint something to boast about either.. umm my sci and overall gpas were both 3.15 ( literally) and pcats -took it twice with the exact same score of 72 ( my lowest score was reading comp of 42% and 30%). i had 5 interviews, 2 waitlisted and 3 acceptances (2 at new schools)
so yea.. after something like that.. i realized firsthand that possibilities are endless...
i also heard of a friend getting into a new school with a sci gpa of 2.8
What is a non traditional student mean is that somebody who has a non science carrer like a major in business field tries to get into a pharms. <--- absoultely my opinion. Usually, applicants are a little bit older than norm. P.S would you share some infos about new schools where your friend applied to? I am living in Florida. Happy X-mas.![]()

It's really a matter of if the adcoms believe you are really going to be a good student. The person with the 2.8 probably had an excellent GPA up trend and a great total package. I think an adcom would be crazy to take a 20 year old with 4.0 in the first 2 years of school with no experience vs a 28 year old that had 2.8, a good degree, great reqs, good PCAT, works experience, ect... 2.8 isn't great, but they are proven to be able to hack it. See what I mean? That's how I would see it if I was an adcom. GPA is hard to change, but just do what you can to prove yourself.what schools did you apply to if you don't mind me asking? 🙂

Haha. Actually, I was talking about me. I'm applying this summer and feel confident. My only negative is my overall GPA but, I've had a 3.4 average over the last 50+ hours in 3000-5000 level chem, bio, and med tech classes. Everything else is great so, I don't see how they could look at just that one number and say no. And yeah, I plan on going ED and have everything done in the first week. Maybe I'm just cocky. Either way, I don't mind applying a few times. I make pretty good money now but, I finally found what I want to do and I am ready to get it done.Did someone call my name? Except I'm 24 turning 25 in a few months and the gpa at time of applying was 2.9. 🙂 I hope people realize this fact:
APPLYING EARLY >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> good GPA and PCAT.
IMO, anyone with ~3.0 gpa avg can hack it in pharmacy school. Have a laundry list of meaningful e/c's, pharmacy experience, and letters of rec and APPLY EARLY! Read my thread, eh? 😉

I'll ED at Auburn, if they put me in the normal pool or reject me I'll apply to Samford and a few other schools. Samford is hard to get in for anyone but, I'll apply anyways. Who knows what might happen. Haha, I have the next couple years planned out for all situations. I'll get in somewhere, sooner or later. I'll take all my prereqs over and do forgiveness at USN if that is what it takes. So, which school are you going to apply, or have applied? Good luck to you.![]()
del... Do you think padding your application is something you should be proud of?
