Quick question. I just graduated from undergrad this past May and am currently working full-time until dental school. Does anyone have any suggestions on art classes which could improve my dexterity and hand/eye coordination? An admissions officer at Baylor told me once she recommended I look into taking art classes to begin preparing for model work, etc. I might see in dental school. (Also, to prove interest in the field.)

Right now, I am thinking about taking night ceramics class at my local community college. Good idea?

What classes did y'all take to prepare for dental school and help your application?

Thanks!

Any art class will improve your manual dexterity. I took some ceramics classes a few years ago before starting dental school and felt it was beneficial. I think a drawing class would also be good.

I took a metal arts class and mostly made jewelry. I thought it was awesome! One of my interviewers even asked me about that class.

I took ceramics at a community college after graduating undergrad, and it was awesome. I really do think it helped, even if it just helped familiarize myself with how the materials felt, could be manipulated, etc. My interviewer at one school asked a couple of questions about it. I also brought some pictures of my work to my interview in case they wanted to see proof, but they never asked.
