If we have multiple interviews, can we ask each interviewer the same question? Or would they figure this out? And on average, how many questions do interviewees ask?
I asked around 3 questions each and they all revolved around how is this area, what are your favorite and least favorite things about the school, how would you or your classmates/students feel with having kids in the area.

Good to get different opinions on the same things.

If they don't get the reference then that's not a school you want to go to anyway

Prior to each interview, scour the school's website, making notes on any program, professor, area of research, class, etc. that interests you or piques your curiosity. Try to talk to anybody you know who attends/attended the school. After performing this basic due diligence, spend some time framing out any questions you may have. It should not be difficult to come up with a dozen or so. Finally, prepare 5-10 questions that you could ask any interviewee--just in case (Ex: is there anything that you would change about the school?) Finally, and perhaps most importantly, listen carefully during the interview and ask any questions that genuinely come to mind.

One thing that I've realized during the 2 interviews that I've done (and reading advice from Goro and others) is that preclinical stuff really doesn't change much between schools. Don't waste questions asking about board pass rates or the fancy new building. That stuff doesn't really matter. What differs between med schools (and the main reason DOs don't match as well as MDs in competitive specialties) is the quality of clinical rotations. Most of my questions were about how my interviewers felt about the school. Everyone always wants to talk about all the good things, but I make a point to ask about their least favorite things because that tells me more. Also, I ask about those clinical years. Is there a lottery? How much am I going to be moving around? What elective rotations are available? etc.

You can ask whatever you want.

I see no reason why interviewers would share your asking questions, unless they were really stupid questions.

How many do they ask? It depends upon the candidate.
