Has anyone taken a non-physics astronomy course (such as descriptive astonomy) and had it counted in the science GPA? I'm just curious, as I have lots of credit hours to fill.

I know of a girl at W&M that was able to get a general astronomy course to count into her BCPM GPA. So yes.

History of Astronomy. Could either have counted as history or astronomy (guess which one I did). As long as it has "Astronomy" in the course name, your ok. Its a very good way to boost the old science GPA.

If it's taught by the Science dept, it's science. Watch out for BS courses like anthropology, though. They might be taught by the social sciences dept.

This class is listed as, "ASTR 111 -- Descriptive Astronomy" as it taught by the Department of Physics & Astronomy in the College of Science & Math. Looks like I'll be ok?

This is a very cheap way to boost the science GPA. 😀
