Please help suppor the premiere of "Better Luck Tomorrow", For those who don't know, Better Luck Tomorrow (or B.L.T.) is an
independently financed film with an all Asian American cast. In
addition to causing lively debates at film festivals across the country, B.L.T. made history twice: as the first Asian American film to be picked-up for distribution at the Sundance Film Festival, and the first ever acquisition by MTV Films (don't worry it's not another Crossroads)!

Justin Lin's Better Luck Tomorrow, a funny-sexy-scary powerhouse that examines a group of Asian-American high school kids who think their smarts give them a get-out-of-jail-free card when it comes to theft, drug-dealing and murder.

For more information, please visit

Premieres 4/11 and out on 4/18, check the site for selected openings!

I'm white can I still watch.

it looks interesting.

I want to see it because it looks like a good movie. I think some of these politics are just silly. There is a total double standard. Should white people say : "Hey guys, let's band together and watch the latest Eminem flim so that white rappers can prosper everywhere.

I would like Asians to get more film roles. And they are underrepresented in American film and television more than any other group aside from Native Americans. However, let's not collaborate and force people to see a film just because it's Asian.

I sure as hell wouldn't want to be told to see a crappy film just because it's Asian related.

If you want Asians to get more screen time, make sure they put out great products that people want to see. Posting e-mails like this won't convince me.

That is one of my points with the clubs. There is an unspoken double standrad when it comes to racial exclusion.

The racial double standard was my point with the clubs.

man.. i have to go to miami to watch it..

thanks for the look out. I never would've heard about it if it wasn't for this post... hahaha what kind of information you find on these things man!!!

I'm definately gonna go watch it, looks pretty good and the plot seems good too.

This is like the first asian american movie, other than martial arts stuff, wack.

I think there have been other Asian-American films at Sundance. Bend it like Beckham and others I believe.

PS - You want an NSX? Save yourself the trouble - if you have even driven one of those v6 japanese junkers you would know. No power or torque. Maybe if you could somehow shoehorn a v8 in (or at the very least supercharge or turbo the anemic thing) it might be worth pissing on. I think Acura (a SEMI-luxury brand) is finally going to put a v8 in that thing in the near future.

Also its too bad you couldn't get into any med school - I think you would have really liked it. Dental school is always a good backup to fall back on anyhow.

NSX is all about handling.
It's not a muscle car.
Not a corvette, mustang saleen, nor a viper.
American muscle cars got power, but lack engineering.
American muscle cars only put big block engines, that's about it.
If you have driven an NSX, you would know its amazing handling.
NSX V6 has more than enough power for anyone to enjoy driving.
Push it to red-line. very smooth at high speeds.
Listen to that engine (titanium rods) rev at extreme limits.
It's a performance car.

My uncle owned one (sold it and bought a celica WTF???) so yes i've driven it otherwise i wouldn't have posted on it. The major attraction of a sports car is the power - and it is greatly lacking in an NSX. Your comment about American cars having bigblocks is uninformed. There hasn't been a big block in a musclecar since 1978.

No the NSX cannot outhandle a Corvette Z06, nor can it beat it in a straight line. The C5R has won many many major races attesting to the capability of the handling and speed, however the NSX has won zero. Its a car that is greatly outclassed by American, German and British competitors, that is why it doesn't sell well. Not to mention it sits so low and scrapes on just about everything in the road (as a previous owner im sure you know) so its not a very streetable car. American engineering is far superior with the Z06 LS6 producing 405HP while still maintaining 29mpg and a light weight while keeping a very streetable demeanor. Why is it that people think that AMERICAN engineering is bad when in fact it is the BEST IN THE WORLD. The NSX engine does not make the beautiful noise that a Porsche F6 does. Nor does it compare to the sweetest tone of the American V8's and the German I6's and V8's. The NSX had its time before the fifth generation Corvette came out (it was just a step above the Supra TT, 300zx TT and VR4), but now since the C6 is coming out its all but a waste of money and space. Now the best I can say is the car looks cool albeit a bit dated.

Save your money for a C6, that way you can get the engineering you like so much with the V8-6-4 displacement on demand version of the LS1 V8 you can get over 30mpg (and over 400HP) and choose how many cylenders you want to run by how aggressively you drive. The shocks contain a fluid that changes density and rate (via electrical pulses) upon input by a computer sensing road conditions for a ride that adapts to the way you drive within nanoseconds. There are more patents in the upcoming C6 high performance suspension alone than on the entire NSX car. It will be without a doubt the best pure sportscar in the world, with the most significant mechanical innovations in many years.

What the heck? Cars are cool! but what the heck is this doing on this forum? Movies too?

Pre-dent students have nothing better to talk about.

J/K . . . kinda

Amit,
are you the guy I met at UCSF interview?

Your not making a fair comparison

NSX to C5.

NSX-R to Z06

and yes the NSX-R or S Type 0 will tear the z06 a new hole in the corners.

the z06 is a joke in handling compared to the euro and japanese sports cars.
The nsx also weighs a HELL of alot less than the z06.
The NSX is outdated though. its a 10 year old design.
but don't dismiss it so arbitrarily

its alot like how when you see Lotus' racing Ferraris and the like they lose ground on the straights but they absolutely rape in the corners.

Real sports cars handle and turn well.
Excess Power is for idiots who can't take a corner.

also 30mpg on a LS1? Yeah... uh huh.. shifting at like 2000 rpms and keeping it in sixth all the way.

American Engineering is the best?
Seriously don't make me laugh.
I dont see any american companies producing hybrids electric drivetrains or quality AWD drivetrains.

Where are the high compression engines that output alot of horsepower for relatively little displacement.

Sorry you have no idea what the hell your talking about.

Dude, in case you forgot this is the predent forum. Not a place for you to advertise for a movie.

I can see now, this forum is made of huge Asian community.

...American engineering is far superior with the Z06 LS6 producing 405HP while still maintaining 29mpg and a light weight while keeping a very streetable demeanor...

Sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about! Amerian engineering didn't have to strugle for the market share unlike japs. Only now, they realized something need to be done to compete. There is still a long way to go....

Before you guys get carried away and resort to name calling...FYI, this is a very old thread.

DDS2BE,

Japs is considered very offensive to the japaneese culture. So please do not use that word to refer a culture of people.

Chinese make up 1/3 of the whole human population and Indians give out about the same fraction. Altogether, they may take up a lot greater number than 2/5...

I didn't know that and didn't mean to offend anyone, but thanks 🙂
