I was wondering how dental school adcoms look upon a course that was audited or taken using the pass/fail option?

I am interested in a course that has a reputation for being a weeder for computer science majors. I want to learn the material, but am worried about the competition. Everybody who moves on to take this course did well in the precedent course, which I did well in. The course is obviously not a dental school prerequisite. It is also not required for my degree, so my school does not oblige me to take it for a letter grade. However, I was told that if a course could have been taken for a letter grade, dental school adcoms may possibly view the choice to not do so as an intent to only put in the effort required for a C grade.

If I take a course using the pass/fail option, the instructor will not know, and will submit a letter grade like usual. If I audit a course, the instructor will know, and will submit a VI mark for satisfactory work, or a grade of E for unsatisfactory work.
