Auditioning at Mount Sinai Medical Center (FL)

Anyone here know anything about doing an audition at MSMC as a visiting student? I'm interested in their Osteopathic IM program.

I've e-mailed (Friday) and called (today) the contact person but haven't gotten a response yet. I'm sure they're swamped but I feel the need to start setting up my other rotations and I'm getting a little anxious about how the 4th year schedule is going to come to fruition.

Anyway, I was mostly curious about when they start taking audition requests and what that process entails, but I'd like to hear more about the program if anyone knows anything. On paper it looks like it's right up my alley, but the most recent thread I can find on it was years ago.

Mi amigo, I don't know the answer to your question, but I'm just responding to say WHAT UP MAAAN?? Hope rotations are treating you exceptionally well. IM huh? Very nice. Feels good to have made that big decision.

I actually accrued more choices between December and now haha. It wasn't until I sat down with some 4th years on Friday that I made my final decision. I had no idea how overwhelming I'd find the process of scheduling for next year!

Thought it was only fair to update the thread for future inquiries: MSMC's Osteo IM program opens their auditions in early January. So if you want a spot, start confirming the request dates early in December.

In fact, a lot of programs open up in January.

Mt sinai is merging their DO and MD programs as of july 1st. No word yet on whether they will require usmle (MD program required it)
