Well the results are in for AAMC 10- 11PS 11VR 10BS. I'm very satisfied with that score... my highest PS yet!

We're almost done...

Omgggg, I can't study anymore. I just get so distracted. *sigh* AAMC 10 on Wednesday and then...Doomsday. By the way, congrats to everyone who's hitting their target scores, you guys are going to do awesome. 🙂

Seriouslyyyy. I keep trying to study, I can't bear to do more questions, even though that would probably help more than anything else. 🙄 I just hope I don't get some random passages that I don't know much about, that would totally mess me up.

honestly im just brushing up on the last few things i need some work on and then I'm putting the books away. The next two days are gonna be for relaxation

Last AAMC done!!!! AAMC 9 - 12, 11, 13 > 36

damn logarithmic scale question on the BS kept me from a 14. and one question away from a 13 on PS!!!

frikkin 2 questions make the difference between a 38 and a 36. so ******ed.

WE ARE ALMOST THERE. anyone else doin the 2 o clock sitting? haha thats the only reason i love this date.

this summer was going so fastt, until these few days. WHY R TEHY GOING SO slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww... i want get this test over with.. i want my life backk. lol...😀....my life .. im going to rescuee uu, not now, but soon i hope...

Do you guys know how much the AAMC practice exams are curved? I missed two more than last time on PS and my score went from an 11 to a 9. It doesn't really make sense.

If you go to the Diagnostic Score report on the left hand side should be a button "How are the exams scored?" (or something to that effect). If you click it'll give you the breakdown of how each AAMC practice exam, CBT & R version, is scored from raw to scaled score.

>.< just did test 3 and gotten a 31 on it.... 10 PS 10 VB and 11 BS

A lot of careless mistakes and my MCAT is going to be 12 hrs ahead of US sesions ... 24th Aug 8pm....

Going to take AAMC 10 today and god my brain is tired hahahah :luck:

Took AAMC 10. Got 13's on both PS and BS.... And got the lowest VR score I've ever gotten. Even lower than my first ever VR. This is truly depressing since the real deal is in a few days. 🙁

what's with AAMC 10 VR.... the passages are a little mind twisting, some just some :luck:

I'm taking the 2pm as well! Its gonna be so much better than waking up early at 6/7am - don't even remember getting up that early for a single day during my summer.

Lame AAMC 10 PS 12 BS 12 VB 8 ...... this is not good.... tmr is the real deal!!!!:scared:😱:scared:😱:scared:😱

God, I'm freaking out...took AAMC 10, did only okay. I wanted to do really well to put me in the right state of mind for Friday. The curve was pretty steep, and I was one question away on both BS and PS from getting a point lower. Not cool. And verbal still sucks, alot. Great... 🙄

Aug 15 Mcat-er here! took it on may 27th, got a 27O (Horrid) Basically had 2 jobs and classes at that time, didn't study a lot just did practice tests and that bit me right back in the a** (ouch! still hurts)

Refused to take any prep courses (~$2,000) just bought practice books and the aamc tests.

Been studying for a month now though HARDCORE.

Just so y'all know, I took ALL the AAMC practice tests B4 the exam and was get >30's. They are NOTHING compared to the real thing (not tryna scare anyone) so stick to the harder practice books (kaplan, princeton, Ek's etc)

i agree...i took the june 13th exam and it was nothing like the old aamc ones. am now taking it again on friday. so scared! :scared:

Gah, I just took AAMC practice exams, even though I studied with EK, and TPR, somewhat, for physics. *sigh* I never finished the 30-minute mini-exams either. I feel like an idiot, like I should have studied more. But I guess I can't do much now. Just hope I do well on the real one and get the score I want. Oh yeah, and learn how to sleep before 2 am every night, that could help... *headdesk*

Don't be scared, thats what screwed me over the 1st time, go in with a mentality that ur gonna kick ass.

true, i had to take sleeping pills cos I couldn't sleep the night before.... NOT A GOOD IDEA!

I also refused to take the prep courses...and the only practice books I had were EK's and AAMC tests.... I have only been studying for about 4 weeks, but many unfortunate events got in the way, so technically, I've only been studying for 3 weeks. Let's hope the real thing won't bite me in the butt.

screw it.

I got lower than expected on AAMC10. I had been where I wanted to be with the few test before than one, so I'm going to attribute it to burn out. I'm going to not do anything MCAT related tomorrow - mow the lawn(haha fun!), eat pie, go out to dinner, etc. And not let the recent test affect me on test day. A lot of the July 10th takers scored higher than their average scores on the AAMCs. 👍

good luck, you guys!

If any poor soul would be willing to help me with a question I came across on AAMC 10, might I direct your attention towards the top of this forum? I've come across a completely unfamiliar concept and I'm going to die, IMO.

So, are the curves for the real MCAT exactly the same as the ones for the AAMC practice tests, or are they more generous or strict?

It's going to depend on how people do on Friday. If lots of people get do well on, say, Biological Sciences, then the curve is going to be harder, so you might only get a 15 if you get every single question right. However, if the test is "harder" and people do worse, the curve will be kinder, so maybe you could miss a question or two and still make a 15, and so on and so forth.

Wow !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:

So I slept all of four hours last night, I'm up early to practice for tomorrow, hah. I better not fall asleep tomorrow during the test, but if I do, I should probably save it for the writing section, lol. I haven't even practiced writing, great, now I'll probably end up with a K or something equally wonderful. 🙄

You know, going through AAMC 10 yesterday, I realized that I made alot of really really dumb mistakes, for me at least. I wish there was a way to stop myself from doing that on the real one. I mean, that sounds really idiotic, there's no way to guarantee that, but it would really send up quite a few points if I did...oh well, I'll just have to stay as alert as possible and check everything a million times. *sigh*

I've never been a big energy drink guy, but I've had a red bull before each of my past two pratice tests, and it's helped me maintain focus, IMO.

I think tomorrow I'm going to have one can about 40 minutes before I begin, and then another 1/2 can before verbal and then the rest before bio, or something like that. So two cans total.

Think about it. Some people get jitters or whatever, but I don't really mind them.

So this morning I just checked out my testing center in Philadelphia. It's pretty much downtown, with the Prometric center on the first floor. I kind of snuck around the floor, and was able to catch a glimpse of what looked like a testing room. It had fairly large cubicles with computers in them, as well as what looked like two headphones, probably one for actually hearing stuff and one for hearing nothing.

About a 30 minute bike ride from my house. I think I'm going to try to get up at 6, get there at 7.

what to bring tomorrow?

i know we need to bring a photo id. but other than that is there anything we need to print out or something? or was that all mcats in the past?

Red Bull, Gatorade, Granola Bars, PeanutButter Crackers, a dozen packs of Smarties and an Airhead or 2... doubt that I will eat all of it..but I like a variety to choose from.🙂

sounds like a picnic tht u r going 😀

my mcat starts in another 9 hrs, and I am shaking in my boots!:luck:

Wow, I am losing it...I was like, who's Tom? *crazy*

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out what to do as far as snacks go...I'll probably end up bringing a "picnic" too, lol.

So what are yall doing today? As I'm at work, I'm running a Western Blot. But that leaves with me lots of time, so I'm going of the Kaplan High Yield Problem book.

i told myself i wouldn't study today but so far i'm failing at that. i should have know seeing as i'm the type of person that can't not study the day before a big test. i've been doing some of the TPR practice passages online and flipping through my books making sure i haven't forgotten anything important. i'll probably drive to the testing center in a little bit just to make sure i know where it is.

I just downed 2 slices of awesome pizza. The rest of the day I think I'm gonna play banjo and watch some tv.
