does this not happen with amcas? Seems like they would have it. I love the fact that it automatically updates your gpa ( assuming you put the classes in correctly) on aamcomas. I started my amcas application and I'm pretty sure they don't do that..would i be correct? if not, then why don't they?

AMCAS calculated my GPA and it was 0.05 points higher than my university because AMCAS uses my foreign grades while my university just a gives me a pass.

You put in all your coursework, the grade and credits earned. AMCAS calculates the GPA. It doesn't ask for your university given GPA.

Your GPA doesn't show up until your application is verified.

THIS is what i was getting at...that sucks! I want to know what it is, so that I can know whether I want to even apply MD. Guess that's how they get their money though 😀

Excel is your friend. All the rules you need are in the AMCAS instruction pdf.

Lol gotcha. Just make an excel sheet and calculate it that way. The scale they use is: A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, etc.

i was thinking along the lines of sgpa. I can calculate it by hand if needed. My cgpa should be the same as undergrad so thats not a prob. thanks for the tips .

Hmm, what classes are you unsure about?

i'll be honest...i need to just look on the site at this point, but i'd love a list of all prerequisite courses that are considered science, other science, etc., like aamcomas has.

It is going to be roughly the same as your university's calculation unless you did something like transfer and your new university has special rules for transfer credits or study abroad.

Like the above posters said, find out which classes will be considered science (BCPM; biology, chemistry, physics and math) and calculate it.
