What's the deal when it comes to whether or not it will hurt your chances of matching to a particular residency to sign up for an away elective and then reschedule and/or cancel (in particular cancel because you've changed your mind about specialty but would still apply to that institution)? Is it a total non-issue? Always a bad idea? Specialty dependent? Program dependent? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
