Is it okay to have a B.S. in Animal Science if you are applying to Pharmacy School?
I am seriously considering switching from pre-vet to pre-pharm, and I was wondering if I could still keep my Animal Science major as long as I fulfill the requirements for Pharm School..

I guess what matters most is that you get all ur prerequisites for whatever schools u plan on applying to

It's fine to have a B.S. in anything as long as you do well in your pre-reqs for pharmacy. I have a B.S. in Animal Science and got into pharmacy school. The pre-reqs for vet and pharmacy are the same except the addition of anatomy/physiology, so it's not hard at all to do. good luck

Any degree is fine. The only 2 important things are that you have the pre-reqs finished and taken the PCATs

I will echo the same as the above posters..........Animal Science major is more than fine...so many applicants are not even planning on pursuing a degree, they are just taking prereqs. If animal science interests you stick with it!

My undergrad is in Animal Science/Vet Science. I even got into vet school in 2002 and declined for a variety of reasons (many of which you've discussed in your earlier posts).

What was great was that with my B.S., I had all of the pre-reqs except for economics. Plus, I have a little bit of a different take on some things than my classmates, so I appreciate the exposure that I've had to vet med.

I'd say run with the pharmacy track at this point. Once you've graduated, you will probably have a large choice of towns to work in, and you'll probably have time to train your horses.

Good luck!
