Hello, so I got a C in Gen Chem II at community college and it was actually very tough for me as well..there's always something that brings grades up when the whole class does bad....The good thing is I got an A- in Gen Chem I at my third-tier university...easy professor first semester...

Also, I have a C+ in Orgo II, but B in Orgo I...I am happy with those grades in Orgo because it was tough, and I got through it...

I just regret not retaking Gen Chem II at my university but now it's too late but the good news is I am minoring in chemistry so that shows I still am interested in the subject despite its difficulties for me...and I got an A- in Biochemistry, which is my university's toughest chem class.

So am I okay to apply to MD schools with a 3.4 Science GPA and 3.65 Cumulative???

Also how many W's are considered bad??? I have 1 normal W and 1 medical withdrawal W.

All this stuff I worry about as June 1st approaches...:/

Good luck everyone and I appreciate your feedback based on past student experiences in regards to my situation.

those W's should be fine, thats not an exorbitant amount whatsoever, forget about them.

Your cGPA is pretty solid, imo, but I guess your sGPA could be a tad higher to be more competitive. What year are you/did you take every prereq/the MCAT yet?

I took Gen Chem II my freshman year and Orgo II my junior year Fall since I took Orgo II my sophomore year spring.

Yes, all my pre-reqs are done with AP Biology used instead of Bio 1 and 2 and upper level bio classes done: Microbiology and genetics and A & P 1 and 2, and finally completed Biochemistry in May.

MCAT this summer..:S

I'd be more concerned about the GPA than the Ws, although if the Ws are in your science courses, it might make that already mediocre sGPA seem somewhat worse. I wouldn't say not to apply but I would definitely suggest getting some DO schools in there and really pushing it for a strong MCAT. Because your GPA is very much borderline, your MCAT will be absolutely crucial in determining where you can reasonably apply and will either be your saving grace or the final blow. Which it is is really up to you.

are you planning to apply for the 2011-2012 cycle or 2012-2013 cycle?

Check with the schools you're applying to if they accept AP bio credit, im pretty sure, for the most part, that most of them dont, and that they want a letter grade for that prereq.

All the schools I'm applying to accept AP Biology but recommend upper level Biology course to evaluate my biology grade and support that AP score...I have taken Microbiology/Lab, Genetics/Lab, Anatomy&Physiology/Lab, and more....

I am applying this summer for Fall 2012 :S
