I am currently in the 18th month track at Barry BMS. This is a post-baccalaureate program specifically to enhance your dental/medical school application. Barry’s demanding curriculum is parallel to the first year of medical/ dental school. I'm here to answer any questions you have about Barry University's Biomedical Sciences Program. Any question you have are more than welcome?

I am currently in the masters program at another school. Does Barry prep people for the mcat? Is it more research based (like labwork most times)? What are my chances of getting into med school after Barry?

Barry BMS curriculum includes Gross Anatomy, Human Physiology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Histology, and several other classes that correlates to multiple topics of the MCAT. Having recently taken the MCAT myself, I strongly believe that these courses and their examinations have tremendously helped me prepare for the MCAT. Approximately 70 % of the graduates were accepted to DO, MD schools and other professional schools. Furthermore, Barry BMS program is not research based, but if you are interested in starting your own research or taking a research class those possibilities are offered. Please look into our BMS website for further information and please feel free to contact BMS for a scheduled visit.

that's cool and all that there is a 70% graduates were accepted to a professional school, but do you know of any linkage to any medical schools?

Hi!
Does anyone have any questions regarding the BMS program at Barry University?

same year application to med school?
Currently, we have several students in the one year and half track that applied for this current cycle receiving interviews and acceptances. It is definitely possible to get accepted at the same time you are completing the program or after.

Sorry for being nitpicky but could you be more specific about several? Like a percentage of applicants that were interviewed/accepted?
And how would that timeline work? Say I want to be accepted in med school for 2017-2018, would I apply to Barry *now* and apply to med school in another 6 months before even entering Barry's fall term?

How hard is gross anatomy for those who are in the program i know they usually give you this class as one of your first to take.

Hi!
I have just submitted my application last week for fall this year. I was wondering how long it takes for them to get back about decisions? I really, really want to go to Barry! Also, are we allowed to pick how long our track is? Because I am hoping to be starting dental school a year after :)

Thank you!
Kayla

Hello I am interested in this program, specially in the dental path. Do you know the percentage of students that got accepted to professional schools after successfully finishing the program at Barry? Also I would like to know if the 1,1.5 or 2 years path make a difference in the acceptance rate. Thank you for your time!

Hey! I'm a current student in the Barry BMS master's program on the dental track. My experience overall has been great; the program is challenging but I feel really prepared for dental school. Over 75% of Barry BMS students who applied to dental or medical school this past year have received acceptances. It typically does not make a difference whether you are on the 1, 1.5, or 2 year tracks on the success rate of getting into professional school. What schools care about most is keeping a high GPA in the program. The best track is the one you are confident you can handle the work load to maintain A grades!
