Oh yes, I know there's the possibility they just didn't call anyone on SDN. However, isn't it much more delightful to believe that no one was called?

OncoCap last year was called on a wednesday morning, I've discovered after rooting around in some old threads. He was in the first batch last year, no?

Seems to be more in Dec and Feb??
 
maybe somebody could just call the school and ask when they're gonna start calling people...cause I seriously wanna know! Question-do you think I have a better chance of getting in early if I interviewed on the first interview day? I've been so ADD today and thinking that everytime my phone rings its baylor lol

I got a call on my phone today and nearly flipped out. Turned out it was just my friend.

Sure don't. I hate talking on the phone. I talk to all my friends through AIM. If I'm not on AIM, it usually means I'm doing something else and don't want to be bothered either way.

That and I don't have many friends 😛.

I'll call Baylor tomorrow and demand an acceptance or just find out what is going on 😀.
 
I just realized the little BCM interview checklist said to SEND the 2x2 picture not BRING it. I think I'm going to overnight it so it will get there the morning of my interview day.

Do you think it will matter if they don't have it right when I interview (I'm going to bring a picture with me)? What do they do with that thing anyways?

Just bring it with you. That's what I did. Nobody minded.

Just get a friend to call them

Or use a voice modulator thing like the guy on Saw :laugh:

I gave it to them and they put it in my file. Just do it early on in the day.

Is there any consensus as to how long it takes to hear from baylor (pertaining to interview invites/rejections) from the time that the status page changes to "application has been reviewed by the committee" ? My status changed today from "is being reviewed"

hahahahaha. i know this is silly, but its too fun. how about:

BCM: "Hello, medical admissions office, ___ speaking."

You: (in the Saw voice) "Hello____, I WANT TO PLAY A GAME."

BCM: "A..what? What's going on?"

You: "It's very simple, ____. I ask you if BCM has accepted anyone yet. And you have 15 seconds to tell me the answer."


BCM: "Uhm...this isnt funny! Who is this?"

You: " Has the adcom offered accptances or not??? Make...your..choice."

BCM: " Sir, I am hanging up now."

That's all mine says too. I assume it's OK if it's like that for both of us, haha.
 
i swear i remember something about friday evenings, they said thats when they call

Doesn't matter. There's a 2 week delay as that's the fastest possible turnaround from interview to acceptance. Though those that interviewed 10/5 will be added soon. =/

ok, good. i interviewed on the second interview date...

man, i wish they will call tomorrow. the wait is killing me, and i've got to study for tests!! 😕

Don't they determine your "ranking" the day OF your interview however?
 
From what I understand from the director, your number's put in a computer the evening of your interview, and you become an "acceptable" applicant immediately.
 
This might be a stupid question, but do you guys think it will affect anything much if I forgot to give them my picture the day I interviewed? 😕

Pictures were optional. I didn't see anyone bring one on my interview day, and they never asked for them to be turned in.

Only reason pictures are used is so that interviewers remember your face. I suppose it gives your application a more "personal" side compared to just looking at words on paper?

That's what I remember the adcom member saying too. They rank you that day right after your interviews and then send the ranked list to the Dean for him to decide. The long wait time is due to the Dean picking applicants, not them ranking you.

Of course, so essentially, it's one guy deciding if he likes you or not. The ranking just gives him an order in which he might pick.

Besides, even if there's ranking or not, you'd figure there's some "hand of god" -type stuff going on so the class isn't skewed. Not that I wouldn't mind a class full of girls. Hahahaaaaaaaaa.... j/k :hardy:
