I’ve decided that I want to pursue becoming BCCCP (critical care) certified. For those that have taken it, I have a couple questions for you to decide the best way to study for it:
1) On a scale of 1-10, how hard is it?
2) What areas did you focus on the most and the least?
3) After the exam, what areas do you wish you focused on more or less, if any?
4) What resources did you use to prepare for the exam?
5) How long do you believe is an adequate time to study for before taking the exam, if not right out of residency? I have been a practicing pharmacist for over 4.5 years in both retail and hospital.

I have heard mixed reviews about the following resources - what are your thoughts and recommendations (even if just buying certain things from different products/packages):
  • HYMR
  • StatPearls
  • ASHP
  • ACCP
  • ACCP Clinical Pharmacist’s Guide to Biostatistics and Literature Evaluation book
  • BCCCP Pharmacy & Acute Care practice exam,

Your feedback is much appreciated ahead of time! Since there are a lot of resources, I want to spend my time wisely using the best materials and focusing on the most important areas to study. Also, if anyone else is studying for the BCCCP exam, we could potentially start a study group. I'm not sure if I'm going to take it in fall 2024 or spring 2025, but I'm thinking spring 2025. Thank you, again!

Hello, is there anyone else taking BCCCP in the spring, or anyone that took it this fall that can provide some insight on:

- Study materials and methods used?
- How to best prepare for BCCCP?
- Areas to place more focus on compared to areas not to focus as much on?
- Tips or tricks to remembering/memorizing hard topics or even easy things?
- How hard the test was compared to what you thought prior to taking it?

It would be very much appreciated! Any insight or suggestions are welcomed! I currently have the ACCP BCCCP 2023-2024 materials.

I have decided to push back the date that I’m taking the BCCCP exam to either spring 2025, or more likely fall 2025.

Anyone that has taken the BCCCP exam, do you have any recommendations, suggestions, or insight for someone taking a board certification exam for the first time? Anything from how you studied, what material you studied, what you found helpful and not helpful, your personal experience, or just anything you would find helpful to a fellow pharmacist studying for this type of exam.

It is greatly appreciated ahead of time! There are so many resources, I’m not sure where to start. I do have the ACCP materials and HYMR, as well as the MedEd 101 study guide for the boring and hard to learn, besides memorization on one topic. Not the Statistics one, but the other one. I can’t think of the name of it right now.

Any feedback is helpful! Also, if anyone else is currently studying for the exam, I am happy to put together a study group to go over materials, bounce questions off of, etc.
