Did you do the mock exam when you took it in 2020? (I believe you said you took the exam once) how was the score on the mock. I heard many people who passed only made around 50ish on the ACCP mock exam .
Never took the exam before. My first time

Good morning! I did do that one on the last try. Will do again before the exam to see where I am at. I just notice that the ACCP exam will let you retake the questions so I am on that again. Thank you for your insight!

Hello! I got a 48% on the ACCP test and scored a 485 on the BCPS. Praying this time is better.

Any idea how we can check out test results? Are they going to email us or we need to keep checking our BPS account.

The result will be released a few weeks after the closing date. How was your exam?
It was ok. I don’t think I pass. There are so many stupid questions . Just very odd type of exam. I studied too much on all important concepts but 90% of them didn’t show up in exam. How do they release the results? Do I get an email ? Where should I check my result?

Wow. I will be next in line feeling the same way (5/19) 😬

I think they will announce on their site when the scores will get release
Just hoping it be before fall registration window closes ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciate

Hi Rose! Once the exam closes, it’s like 60 days before the results are released. There will be dates on the BPS website of when it happens.

congrats on taking it. Everyone feels like they failed when they come out. Don’t let that beat you up. You have a lot to be proud of!

Looks like fall registration opened up. I guess I’ll be living on here for while! Already super nervous. I’m using high yield to prepare. Really love the lectures but feel like information overload! Good luck to everyone taking their exams for spring!

Just took the BCPS exam this morning… good luck to everyone else who has taken or will be taking the exam this spring!

Good luck to you too
How was it in general ? Any last minute advice?
Thought it was a bit harder than I expected! But I’ve also heard it’s normal to walk out of the exam thinking that. All of the biostats/study design questions were straight forward. The tough questions were when the patients had allergies to penicillin or if the patient is pregnant so I’d recommend brushing up on 2nd line therapies/alternatives as well!

Tips for studying with ACCP book? Focus on self assessment questions and patient case questions? Read everything?

Thank you for your response! 👏
For those who've already taken the test, what was the online calculator like? Did it look like this sample BPS posted? https://www.bpsweb.org/wp-content/uploads/Calculator.jpg
very easy to work with. Also you can pin your questions not sure about and come back to review them again. ( If you have extra time)

thank you so much! Hope we all pass it.

Yes, approximately 60 days after the closing of the test window which is Jun 01, not the day of your exam.
So if it’s released on 8/1, we will have 3 days to register for fall, if needed. It is usually released before 60 days.

Did you have enough time? What part did find harder part 1 or 2?
There’s no different in part 1 vs part 2. The question types/domains are randomly distributed. The reason they split it in 2 part is to give us a shot break. You can choose not to take a break and continue to part 2 after you complete part 1. I recommend taking break. Keep in mind that we only have about 1&1/2 minutes for each question. If you spend so much time on one question, you will run out of time. It happened to me 😫

Oh ok. I ran out of time for part 1 which included more questions and had 20 min extra for part 2. Very unfortunate that I couldn’t use it for the part 1.

I believe the reason for being 2 parts, is for whom taking it only for recertification, they need to take one part only ,,Not both.
But for new certification, it is required to take both , and it will be random which part comes first
So, usually one part seems easier than other

Good to know.

I’m sorry to hear this! This is my second time taking it. The first time, I ran out of time with three questions left. Did you find there was specific areas/topics holding you back?

i ran out of questions with only 1 question and unfortunately that was a stat question that required lots of calculations so I couldn’t guess that one. I found the exam was missing many main concepts that I spent so much time on it. Not too details at all on many areas.

Just got done with the ASHP practice exam and scored a 58%. This has me really nervous. I take the exam in a couple of days. Just praying for a 500.

Don’t worry. Many people got around 50ish % on the ACCP mock exam. Good luck

Took mine on 5/25. Completed PGY1 in 2019, working in hospital acute care ever since. I only studied the ACCP lectures and videos (thoroughly).

This felt like a "gotcha" test. I wasted so much time studying the nitty gritty details of acute care disease states. Barely any of that was on there. The VAST majority of antibiotic selection questions I got were in pregnant patients, usually in some obscure outpatient indication. Think abx selection in a pregnant patient with PCN allergy with sinusitis or BV (not an actual question I got but you get the point). Forget all that knowledge about sepsis, VAP, or pathogen-directed regimens and duration for infective endocarditis- it ain't on there. This was not a test of what I think a "pharmacotherapy specialist" should know. Just a bunch of random, off-the-wall tidbits of knowledge. /rant

On the other hand, the stats questions were straightforward and fair. I felt like I nailed those. Policy and regulations questions were minimal. I still feel like I have a good chance of passing, just disappointed in the questions. I can't say I'd feel proud or accomplished if I pass.

You just nailed the point. 💯 agree. Not type of questions I expected for specialty exam. Just want to know if this year was like this or other years were the same. Totally wasted all the details I studied for the exam.

Very on point! I was disappointed because it did not reflect the knowledge I obtained while studying. Very off the wall stuff. I feel like I passed but have been told you should feel like you failed. I’m in awe of the format.
