I agree with your comment. I share all my knowledge. But I have come across pharmacists who view other pharmacists as “competitors” instead of colleagues. 😔. I also work in a field where it is extremely rare for people to take this exam. I’m the only one. I’ve shared my interest in the exam—-just not when the date is. And it has nothing to do with the profession. I’ve been this way before I changed majors.🤣I'm so disappointed in some of the responses on this board. When did our profession become this poisonous environment of thinking people are smart or dumb based on the results of an exam. Why would we question whether it's appropriate or not for another person to share the fact that they are taking the exam with their coworkers.
We should all be building each other up. Supporting each other. Medical knowledge is gained over a career and not from a singular test. The value of ALL of these exams is the preparation. Crossing the finish line is simply a step in the middle of the journey.
I share with any of my coworkers, supervisors, residents, students, friends, family, goals that I am striving for. I do this because it is something important to me I am working on. I also make a point to do this at work for two reasons: if i don't pass, I like to readily share that information too because then others may feel better about themselves about falling short on an exam. I also share my goals and current undertakings in a hope to inspire others to find the motivation or inspiration to reach for further education and build on their knowledge.
We can all learn from one another. We should all be supporting one another. If you have resources, throw it in a google drive and let your staff utilize it. This only benefits the department.
Remember, you don't study in order to pass exams, you study under the fact that one day the knowledge that you have may very well one day help treat/prevent a patient and drastically improve their life
I wish, but probably not 🙁Any chance that you guys think the results will come out this week? 🤞🏻
I wish, but probably not 🙁
I called them today and they would only tell me that results will be released within 60 days from the close of the testing window. I did a little research. One of my friends took it last spring. The last day to test was June 24 and he got results on July 27. It only took 33 days even with the pandemic. The last day to test this year was June 1 so you would think results would be out by now. In 2018 and 2019 the results were both released by July 10 so maybe by the end of this week, but I’m not holding my breath. The fall exam registration window closes on August 3. Surely they won’t wait until August 1 (the full 60 days) to release results. This wait is horrible.Any chance that you guys think the results will come out this week? 🤞🏻
Yeah, and I don’t think the exam results last fall took the entire time either. I’m still gonna be hopeful about this week because truly no one could know, but they do have a few weeks before the official 60 day mark so I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t posted.I called them today and they would only tell me that results will be released within 60 days from the close of the testing window. The release has also a schedule?I spoke to a representative yesterday. They will post a release schedule on the BPS main page 1-3 days prior to releasing results to participants. This is consistent to what they have done in the past.
They usually release scores over several days for the different exams (5-6 days). I don’t know if it’s always the same order but in the fall it looks like BCPS was the last one.The release has also a schedule?
Oh, ok . Makes sense. ThanksThey usually release scores over several days for the different exams (5-6 days). I don’t know if it’s always the same order but in the fall it looks like BCPS was the last one.
I wish they would’ve told me this. Do you know if this shows up under the press releases? I googled the exam results and found a link to past exams, but couldn’t find it on the main BPS pageI spoke to a representative yesterday. I called. They just said they were working on it, and that we will receive email as soon as the results are posted.I wish they would’ve told me this. lol! This made me laugh. The results would have been out 2 weeks ago, but given people keep calling them for a status update BPS is distracted from working on them. Yes, this is a joke so relax, but it reminds me of RNs calling me in the pharmacy for a med to be verified as I'm trying to verifying it. Maybe if you give me more than 1 nanaosecond, your medication will be verified. (And my guess is results will start to be posted next week. Just know that the BCPS people are always last! They release certain exam scores on certain days).
Problem is they think inside why does pharmacist have to verify these at all ? these are in the pyxis, let's take pharmacist out of the equationThe results would have been out 2 weeks ago, but given people keep calling them for a status update BPS is distracted from working on them. I say only the Worthy pass, and those unworthy change careers....Hope and wish for every one in this group pass![]()

SameI am just annoyed at this point ... Cannot believe that it takes "up to 60 days" to grade an electronic exam 🙄
To me it’s frustrating because I retook it now in the spring I took it last fall and I failed and the test results came out one month and 11 days after the testing window closed and today is one month and 11 days since our testing window closed and they’re still not upI am just annoyed at this point ... Cannot believe that it takes "up to 60 days" to grade an electronic exam 🙄
Unfortunately you are correct in the sense that there is indeed a huge luck factor for these exams. One can be very well prepared on common disease states and then the test could consist of random bull****.If I don’t pass I wouldn’t retake. If the questions were not off the wall and totally representative of specialty board exam and I was not studying enough for the exam, I would have taken it again. However, I feel I was totally ready
But the problem was type of questions. It doesn’t guarantee that I pass next time even I decide to retake it.
Couldn't agree more... I don't understand what can possibly take up to 60 day's to score an electronic test. Even the Naplex and MPJE take at most what 3 days, and there are way more people who take that exam at any given time.I am just annoyed at this point ... Cannot believe that it takes "up to 60 days" to grade an electronic exam 🙄
BCCCP did, I don’t remember BCPS having them when I took it, but that was a few sessions ago.I have a silly question. Do you guys remember if we had questions in the exam that required more than one choice such as applied all? I can’t remember. I just read in another thread.
Thank you. I almost got a heart attack seeing someone wrote that.BCCCP did, I don’t remember BCPS having them when I took it, but that was a few sessions ago.
I called today and I got the same 60 day spiel. Probably the same woman.Anybody happen to call in today or yesterday for an update? I called on Friday and was told the whole up to 60 days story, and that the deadline for Fall 2021 exam can potentially be extended, which was news to me. She would not confirm or say anything about earlier than 60 days... Historic data would suggest anytime now...
🤣🤣🤣Imagine being in 2021, with self-driving electric cars, etc... but it takes 60 days to grade an automated computerized exam ... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 would be quicker for my 3rd grade teacher back in 2000 to do it by hand with red pen.
It takes time to adjust the scores, not to grade the raw scores. So, hopefully they are working on lower the bar more and more to meet the goal. Meaning we will higher chance to pass 🙏 idk about others, but I can only pass this by chance lol
I know it sounds a bit jaded, but its possible for the opposite too, that the organization estimates the number of retakes and related revenues from new $600 fees for third attempts, and additional $300 fees for second attempts, alongside the pressure to keep passing rates around 60-70% ish to maintain brand valueIt takes time to adjust the scores, not to grade the raw scores. So, hopefully they are working on lower the bar more and more to meet the goal. Meaning we will higher chance to pass 🙏
Ha ha I’ve checked 3-4 times a day, both website and my account 🤣I've been logging into my BPS account every morning to see if there was a IT/System update on the cert status from "Eligible" to "Pass" or "Failed"
I vaguely recall a pharmacist from the Fall saying he saw it changed from Eligible before the official email came out, he was taking BCPS. I can't remember if he found out earlier in the ~3 day release period (usually BCPS is last like another pharmacist said above) or before the official announcement altogether. I'll ask him tonight!
Same!Ha ha I’ve checked 3-4 times a day, both website and my account 🤣
I’m glad I’m not the only one! 😂 I also check this thread to see if there’s any exciting updates I’ve missed.Ha ha I’ve checked 3-4 times a day, both website and my account 🤣
Definitely not alone. I routinely check the bpsweb site and SDN for the heads up. I check multiple times a day 😆🤣I’m glad I’m not the only one! 😂 I also check this thread to see if there’s any exciting updates I’ve missed.
BCIDP had a bunch of these. It turns your odds from 25% chance down to something like less than 5%. Crazy hard.I have a silly question. Do you guys remember if we had questions in the exam that required more than one choice such as applied all? I can’t remember. I just read in another thread.
She is actually the only person that works for BPS which is why it takes so long to post the scores. She's busy answering the phone all day while trying to compile all the data. Tough gig. But she rakes in the dough at the end of the year. : )I called today and I got the same 60 day spiel. Probably the same woman.
No, they don't lower the bar. In theory, they could fail everyone on an exam. I mean think about it. If everyone missed every question, they aren't going to pass a single person. I've seen passing rates as low as 45%. There is no set percentage high or low. They have a secret formula which is obviously complex and they no doubt manually relook at certain question to decide whether or not to "throw them out." I have a feeling there is a lot that goes into the scoring of these exams that is beyond our understanding. (psychometrics for example)It takes time to adjust the scores, not to grade the raw scores. So, hopefully they are working on lower the bar more and more to meet the goal. Meaning we will higher chance to pass 🙏 idk about others, but I can only pass this by chance lol
did you hear something? Or just being facetious?Looks like Pass rate is very low this time around... My suggestion is to start studying for the fall exam Now............ 😉 🤣
THAT would very nice. I am hopeful about the website updates that were made as per the previous post.Just went through some past years' threads and I noted that scores historically for the spring exam were reported to exam takers ~45 days after the last exam date (for us it was 6/1/21 + 45 days), which would put us within proximity of knowing our results very soon🙏
Just logged in and the covid box is back ughhh hahahaWent to the bpsweb site and the gray pop-up box for Covid is gone. My thought is bps will replace that gray Covid pop up box with score release dates... just my thought/intuition.
