Has anyone done a BDS degree, and then apply for a 4 year normal DDS program in US/Canada, instead of applying for the Internationally-trained-dentist/Advance standing (2 year program).
If I do a BDS degree, will I be allowed to apply for the full 4 year DDS degree program? Or will I not be given an offer/acceptance because the BDS is an undergrad done outside of US/Canada?
The reason I'm asking this is because the ITD/AS programs have very limited admission, and so was wondering if I could also apply for the normal 4 year DDS aswell.
(PS: I'm thinking about going to University of Western Ontario for Med Sci (BMSc) as my undergrad before applying to dental school, but I feel like I wouldn't enjoy it as much, because I am almost certain that I want to go into dentistry and doing a med sci degree would just kinda waste my time and effort when I could be doing something I enjoy.)
