I want to get patient contact hours however many accepted positions that accredited PA programs accept require certifications. I work full time for CDC, MPH, and I have to take some additional pre-requisites which is why I want to start patient contact hours right away versus waiting to complete a certification program to begin the hours.

I have seen the companies that provide scribe training and jobs such as ScribeAmerica and Elite Medical Scribes etc. but are there other avenues to apply for a scribe position directly with the hospital or practice? I have looked at hospitals however do not see any scribe positions. Can I only become a scribe through those training companies?

Any Advice would help!

Thanks in advance.

IIRC, scribing wouldn't count as you aren't providing care to the patient.
