I would probably ask a physician and not a bunch of premeds. Just saying.
 
If you really want to stay at the top of your game you could always try Dr. Gawande's strategy of coaching. By the way I'd highly recommend reading that article of his.

Then again I would recommend reading all of Gawande's New Yorker articles. And his books.

i have no interest in surgery, but read the book. which was great.

Physicians are expected to be life-long learners, and are required to engage in continuing medical education.

yeah i know i was just hoping to spark discussion. i guess i didn't do a very good job!

but either way i think i made the mistake of putting this in pre-med. oh well.

My mentor put it this way.... CME is the minimum competency. It's the great physicians who see it that way.

Our professors also say the same thing about the board exams.
 
I just finished reading this article. What a fantastic read! I detected some common themes Dr. Gawande discussed in his books, particularly Better and Checklist Manifesto.
