Berkeley Review - Reputable? Pt. 2

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
To emphasize the fact that TBR is being totally inaccessible through phone/e-mail. In fact, my thread is the third to be posted up within the past two days that complained of this issue.

You definitely didn't need a third or second or even first thread. If you would have hit the search function you would find that there are certain times of the day that they are more likely to pick up the phone. They are also a small company whose employees all have other work to do. You have to be persistent and keep calling. You will eventually get a hold of them. You could also try searching your question/comment.

LIS,

I tried calling three times a day for the past three weeks. First call would go out when it's around 9:30am on the west coast, then around 12pm, then around 3pm. Fine, even if they're not at their phone, I have sent two e-mails. Now, someone has got to respond to an e-mail.

They are teaching 3 sessions of an intensive MCAT course during the day. I would try to call during the later hours in the afternoon. They'll get to their emails eventually. They have to worry about the students who paid for their classes first. Could their service be better? Definitely, but remember that they are a small company and really care about the students taking their class. Does that become an annoyance for the rest of us? Yes but that is the trouble you have to go through to get their books (which in my opinion are the best available for PS).

Maybe they're not responding because you're annoying them. I called them 3 times, they picked up all 3 times. Maybe I got lucky. I ordered 3 books from them, all came within a week (work days only).

Good for you Phillips. Shall we celebrate the fact that you have so wonderfully fallen into the good graces of The Berkeley Review?

After LIS has offered a decent suggestion as to why they have been unavailable recently, was it necessary for you to barge in and suggest that I could be annoying them? I have bought a few of their books before so if I have a question about purchasing more items and require specific answers, am I not entitled to receive a reply? Please don't answer that question; it is rhetorical.

I wish I could be glad about something. But I'm not glad. I'm sad that you find gladness in provoking what you think in your head are the "inner anger management problems" of random people you communicate with online. Perhaps you are projecting your own inner problems on others.

This is the second time you have made assumptions about things I have posted up. Please put an end to this.

I thought I was their favorite; since I got my books 6 days after I sent my cashier's check.

Yeah, I thought I was their favorite too when I also received my books in that amount of time. But Phillips wants this coveted position so badly so he can have it. Doesn't matter to me.

Kinesio, with all due respect, I don't think Phillips meant to provoke anything. I'm sure at one point or another you'll get a chance to talk to someone at TBR. Yeah, it sucks that some people get luckier than others when it comes to finding a representative to talk to, but that's life right? Its not always fair.

I have also been trying to get in touch with TBR with both e-mail and phone but to no avail. Pick up the phone! Answer some e-mails!

They don't have a bunch of Admin.

When you order something from a company like this, YOU DO NOT leave messages asking if your order is going well. It is a dumb question. They will not respond. Each additional contact you add on top just frustrates them further. Imagine that you have to get messages by yourself and have 100. 50 are real issues that need to be handled and 50 are from like 7 people who leave message after message only asking if everything is going well.

It is annoying. I know because I was in sales and when you don't have admin and have tons of messages it sucks.

Real question: "I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to pay/order."

Poor question: "I ordered last week and haven't heard anything, then I left a message thursday, friday and saturday and still no response."

Press 7 to delete. Next message.

Oh man, just when I settle something with one person another one comes along and makes assumptions.

Each time I called, I did NOT (repeat: I did NOT) leave a message. I called, got the answering machine, then hung up. In other words, when they check their messages (or more importantly, if they check their messages), they wouldn't be hearing a single sound byte from my voice.

I only e-mailed them twice! And the second e-mail was sent two weeks after the first.

Also, I already have all the Berkeley Review books I need. So I am not calling them to ask them how the order is going. There is no order! I wanted to call with other questions.

Why would you just hang up at the answering machine? At least let them know they're missing calls and they'd be more aware of you trying to contact them. Hanging up on the answering machine and someone can interpret that as a telemarketer or an automated system hanging up.

They can't check their messages if you don't leave a message.

Problem solved. The OP needs to leave a message and be more patient.

Now lets move on from this thread, it wasn't even meant to be here to begin with. Let us all just calm down and get back to something that is actually important, like studying.
