I'm applying this coming cycle to the PCCM match. I understand that fellowship, unlike medical school and somewhat residency, is heavily dependent on personal preferences (location, setting,...). However, I'm interested in knowing what programs truly stand out. I'm interested in a good mix of clinical and research in an academic setting, no location preference. I heard that Penn and Colorado are phenomenal. Any other programs that can be added to that list?

Wouldn't fre this too much though I remember enough to know you won't listen to that.

General tips:
1-If you have a geographic area you want to end up in for sure, target that area now for training since you will make important connections and most importantly learn where to avoid before having to commit to a real job

2-I would avoid heavy academic program in the current political climate--find a place where fellows are far exceeding minimum procedure numbers and ideally does not have an IP program that will steal more advanced bronchoscopy volume from you
