I enjoy studying by solving as many sample questions as possible. I was browing around Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...&field-keywords=mcat+sample+questions&x=0&y=0

What book do you recommend? Has anyone had success studying by solving the thousands of questions from the Examkrackers book?

I am looking for a good source (free or not) with as many good quality sample questions as possible. What do you recommend?

The Berkeley Review books have good sample passages.

I found that the EK 1001's were helpful for hammering home specific types of problems and calculations.

Those are the only with which I have any experience.

Thanks for your help. Are you talking about the books here: http://www.berkeley-review.com/TBR/home-study.html

Are those books SAMPLE QUESTION books, REVIEW MATERIAL books or BOTH? If both in what proportion?

I don't think any book has more discretes than EK 1001 if you're looking for volume.

They are both. Each book is broken up into chapters explaining/reviewing material with sample problems, followed by 7-14 practice passages plus some discretes. From what I've read around here these are the books most people who are choosing to study outside a paying course choose to use (check out SN2ed's sticky in this forum for an idea of how to do so). They've worked well for me.
