International work. If you have a gap year there are loads of opportunities and you really stand out.

Any role that gives you leadership experience and that you could talk positively about in an interview.

I volunteer every Christmas break at Make-A-Wish Foundation in Orlando. I love doing that and it's definitely a bit different! If you have the means, I'd highly recommend working at the Give Kids The World Village, all the people there are really kind.
