Better Anatomy Atlas?

I just got my booklist for UNECOM. I wanted to know which of the two are better...

Grant's Atlas of Anatomy (Agur)

or

Atlas of Human Anatomy (Netter)

I got my list from Western/COMP....we are using the Netter....if that means anything...

I would be interested to hear people's thoughts on the two....

I am not very familiar with Grants but at KCOM we mainly use Netter. I found it very useful. The computer program that accompanies netter is also very useful. Get a hold of a first or second year at your prospective school and see which one is used most in lecture. I think it is helpful to study off of the same pictures that were presented in class.

Get a Netter !!! gants was ok, but Netter was our second Bible!

and if you want something that does not give you just an idealized picture of the anatomy (let's face it, drawings are just that...an artist's rendition!) go get yourself a Rohen....it has photos of the cadavers and is a pretty good review for the practicals!

ebola95 gave perfect advice. Use Netter to get your relationships down, and use Rohen to prep for practical exams. I had Netter and Grants, and I almost never opened Grants. Netter is the anatomy bible at UHS as well.

Netter is pretty, it was never made to be a study guide for medical students. It is a picture book that is great for presentations and for general information. I will have to admit that the CD is nice too. But for learning anatomy, I think the simplier the better. Grant's Atlas, esp. old editions like 4th, 5th, 6th are the holy grail of anatomy. Little amounts of color, but not all of those lines pointing out structures like in Netters. Names of anatomy are written in to the drawings making them less busy and I think esaier to study from. I know the new Grant's atlas is a little more busy.

Ok that is just my 2 cents worth.

Grant's Dissector is pretty good for lab, but when it comes to atlases, I'd stick with NETTER.

I could never find all the stuff in Grant's, however it looks more realistic. But I loved and still use Netter from time to time

Netter and Rohen. Make your life easy....well, as easy as possible.

I personally preferred Netter over Grant, but I have heard that Grant is beter for lab....

NETTER is the way to go.
Rohen (if you find a used copy where you don't have to pay a whole lot).
Grant's dissector....not bad, if your school doesn't have any other dissection manuals.

I say go with Netter...used it for Graduate Program and it was really good. Great images.

Netter was the better atlas. However, the Yakochi (sp.) atlas was invaluable when studying for lab practicals since the entire atlas was color pictures of perfectly dissected cadavers.
